  1. I normally just selfishly absorb information from sites and rarely give back...for my first post on the site I decided to do my own short review of the Parada Spec-X. Before I begin, I'd like to mention that about a month ago I was facing my first new set of tires on the truck. I bought it used with a new set of stock Eagle LS's at 28k miles. I was now to around 64k miles and knew it was way past time to get a new set. Up until I began to read similar reviews here I had thought (like many of the guys here) the stock LS tires had performed fairly well. That was soon to change. I checked prices, compared manufacturers, compared different tires from all over the place. I finally decided to try out a Yokohama tire, and like several of you had suggested I settled in with the Parada Spec-X. My Discount tire...Pro? was able to give me a discount per tire because I had been interested in the Geolander many of you had mentioned as well, and for some reason it was listed cheaper in their records. This saved me around $20 per tire. So for around $700 I had a new set of tires on my truck and lifetime balance, rotations, and flat repair...with a lifetime replacement guarantee. ( I live in Austin, and across the street from never ending construction which has caused 4 flats in less than 6 months. SO- Immediately leaving the store I noticed a significant dry weather handling improvement. No longer can I make my presence known leaving a parking lot. They are very quiet at highway speeds...comfort level is also greatly improved. Growing up in East TX, I'm used to playing around in the mud with little to no traction. When it rains...I enjoy getting the ass-end of my AWD to sling around and freak the hell out of my friends. Suffice it to say that I was looking forward to the first bit of rain after getting these tires. Ironically these tires may actually have disappointed me at first. I have yet to lose traction at any time with these tires during the rain. I'm not afraid to slide around...so I've tried...and failed. My disappointment at their grip is shortlived as I most desire security out of my vehicles and I feel much safer on the highway or merging into traffic while the roads are wet. These tires amaze me. I have around 1500 miles on the tires so far. I haven't tried sand...nor have I had much of a chance to try ice or snow. This is TX after all. I encounted a little ice up in Dallas over the past few weeks, and had no problems. So as far as rating these tires: I'll give them a 10. If I was to rate the stock LS: I'd give a 6. The Parada are exceptional both on dry and wet pavement, and perform great at higher speeds. They look sexy too ;) (Before it is mentioned...I'm aware LS tires with 36k miles on them would perform poorly as well as most any tire...but I remember the feel of the truck from the day I bought it with a new set. There is no comparison. The Parada Spec-X was a great choice for me.) I would recommend these tires to anyone. I wash my truck regularly...but I'm on the road most of the week and it has rained 95% of the time
