  1. I bought and installed a low beam hid kit for my 05. One bulb did not work at all upon install. Changed polarity and swapped bulb to ballast and was definitely a bad bulb. I called about the problem. The young man informed me in a very condescending manner that it was probably installer error and in so many words check all that I had already done. As I tried to explain to him what was already done he hung up on me. In disbelief, I tried to convince myself that the call was merely dropped. At any rate I triple checked everything and returned the call. A young lady instructed me to submit a warranty form on the website. So, after buying a kit that came with a bad bulb my options were a) send the bad bulb back on my dime(about $8) plus$10 shipping and handling and the 2 week turn around, b) choose "expedited warranty for a nominal fee" of $20 or c) just buy a damn bulb at reg price of $19.99. I called today to verify these options which didnt seem right. Seems as though I got the same guy who proceeded to rudely interrupt again while I asked questions told me "use the warranty page!" and hung up on me for a second time. The kicker is I was never being rude, belligerent or confrontational. Well after immediately looking at the address to see they are about 2k miles from me so no chance of a face to face with this person I go back to the warranty page. I begrudgingly chose $20 "expedited warranty" option because I cant drive for two weeks with one headlight. After checkout I realize that I was also charged 16.99 for shipping on top of the $20 warranty exchange. I also failed to mention on the original purchase I added a $4.99 1 year warranty to the kit. Pardon the long winded rant, but to sum it up I paid for a low beam hid kit plus warranty, received a bad bulb with it, ended up paying an extra $36.99 just to get what I already paid for, and got hung up on twice in the process. I havent had many bad experiences with vendors in the past and have never given a review like this, but I will visit all the forums that I am a member of and give my experience since that is my sole recourse. If you choose to do business with hidnation do so at your own risk. They have no idea what customer service is and their "warranty" is a joke. Probably good for both of us that they reside in Huntington Beach, CA. Thanks for reading. On a side note , I need to purchase another kit for my hi beams, any input appreciated.

  2. I just ran into this topic and I have LED headlights off of ebay and they are super bright. The first generations were bright but did not project. Next came the fan version and ballast. The newest generation uses cooling fins and no ballast.

Here is where the problem is. On a 2004(TRUCK) after you install the LED it wont fit because the fins protrude too far out. On a 2008 which uses 2011 and 2005 they have the room to run this type of light and they come in 20w (2200 to 2400) and 30w (cant remember that but its more)

My 2005 Malibu has the room. Look on ebay and search for led headlight kits. They start around 50.00 and becareful as the ones starting at 25 to 30.00 are for one . These vendors try to fool you thinking you are buying a set. Take it from me I was taking the bait . Hook line and sinker

Just to verify, are you saying that the 2005 trucks do or dont have the room for these leds?
  3. Saturday I went out to start the truck and let it warm up. Several seconds after I started it both electric fans turned on high, engine cold and under 30* ambient temp. I turned off the truck and the fans went off. Restarted and again several seconds later the fans turned on high. I turned off and disconnected the battery cable for several minutes. Reconnected everything, same result. I drove the truck for about 30 minutes and when I got where I was going the fans were off but noticed the temp gauge was not working at all. Not knowing if one was related to the other I changed the ETC sensor. As of now still no change but the fans do not do this every time I start the engine. I now believe the gauge is an unrelated problem but don't know what's up with the fans. It is my understanding that the fans only turn on high speed when eng temp is over 210* or the pressure is over the limit in the ac system. Any insight would be extremely helpful. Thanks

  4. I put that 4000nex in my 05 earlier this year. Its great and I used the gmos 04 and i think the steering wheel control was aswic it all worked together flawlessly, chimes are a little loud though. By the way go on amazon and get the 3 wire micro bypass, it works for this model. The old school ground the parking wire doesnt work on these newer head units

  5. After wasting the whole day dicking with bullshit radiators from oreilly's, the only day this week that will be above 30*, I need a quality replacement radiator. Is my only option to get one from the stealership? I dont want to pay an outlandish amount for an aluminum one, but I will pay for quality. Yes, I have used the search. Thanks for any input.
