    0-90

thanks, right now it has a bad tune, it was tuned to run with a miss fire. its a lq9 in a 98 RCSB with shortie headers. and a 4L80E tranny. not to sure what she shifts at i need a bigger TACH it pulls really hard after 50 its like your crusing down the road an bam next thing you know your doing 80 by mistake when i get some more funds ill add a nice tach, i want to find a cool one to go with my stock gauges
  7. Guys i finally found my problems an fixed most of them. i just need to rebuild the other head an it should be good, plus i need a re tune. well here it is 0-90 its still slow on take off, it barely spun the tires but thats a good thing http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XLHgEgGkPhc
  8. just an update, i got it fixed. now i have to remove the other head and get it machined
  9. No problem guys just trying to help out
  10. haha my name is ricky, but your welcome i hate to see people get ripped off, rather it happen to me then someone else. hopefully i can get this taken care of just incase he makes a new Ebay id, he is in apple valley CA, near victorville. stay clear of anyone from there i guess
  11. Guys just spreading the word to watch out for this guy, his name is Oscar. At first he is nice, and helpful. Then he turns bad. I paid for a 2006 LQ9 with 17k miles on it that ran good, and got a junker 2003/2004 with a lot of miles on it. He has nothing but empty promises. He said he would send me a head to try to fix the problem, with head bolts and a gasket. 2 weeks later nothing. he told me he would send another one out right away, and give me the tracking number. he never did. I have spent over 800 $$ to try and fix the motor, and a lot of my time, but it is still junk. he did refund me $800 thought, but yet that barely covers what i have replaced, it does not help the fact he lied to me about the year and mileage of the motor. Just giving a fair warning to stay clear of him thank you
  12. so i heard back about the head, the guy isnt 100% sure but he thinks a Mud Dauber built a nest on the valve causing it to not open an close properly hopefully that was the only problem but i am glad it happend i found out the yr of my motor
  13. that sounds like fun, when i use to work at sears one of the machanics didn't put oil in the car after draining it. and then sears had to pay for her new motor. and before he did that he didn't put the cap back on and it spilt oil everywere well i found out that the jerk who sold me the motor lied about the yr.. he said it was a 06 but in 06 they used all the same lenght head bolts.. and i have 8 long ones and 2 short ones
  14. yea the water was the least of my worries but i just was like what the heck. he probably did it cuz he knew i was taking the head off i guess. well im taking the head in today to get it pressure tested and all those goodies. ill keep you guys updated
  15. So as some of you know i have been having a small problem with my lq9. well i tried everything from injectiors to coils to fix the problem and nothing. i was told from the JERK who i purchased the motor from that i would be getting my new head and gasket and head bolts today but once again he lies he probably wont send me anything. Ok so i finally got tired of the lies from oscar and just went down to a machine shop and asked about how much to fix my "problem" he said about 135$ so i was like ok.. i wanted to take it to port pros my old machine shop but the closed down i pulled the head and found out that my motor is a lq9 :dancenana: and that the cyldinder looks fine from the naked eye. same with the head. tomorrow im going to go get it pressure tested and what not if its fine then im going to cry.. im a little upset with nelson performance because they did my swap and they didn't put coolant in my truck they used water. well that got nice an rusty and now everything smells great oh well i have to flush it anyways here are the pics.. notice on the left side the sencond port which is #4 cyldiner there is no oil or anything in there. i did not wipe that down thats how it was when i pulled off the intake
  16. hey danny, pulled the head off today its a lq9 she has flat tops < lol anyway ill post up some pics of my progress the head didn't look to bad
  17. it didn't he told he he installed it. when i pull the head off, i will tell by the pistions. if they are flat top its a lq9 if not its a lq4 lol he is right there in apple valley here is his address. 15061 tuscola ct apple valley ca 92307 anyone know of him? after i purchased the motor i was warned on ls1truck.com and nelson performance he is a huge scammer and idiot. i guess i am finding out why btw his name is oscar. his area code is 626
  18. Is there any way to tell the difference between them physically? i only ask because i was on ebay looking at this guys store who sold me my motor an tranny claming it was a lq9, has the same VIDEO and pictures he gave me for a 2005 LQ4. he told me it was a 2006. here is the ebay page http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...em=300200442448 here is the video he sent me last year http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cZA0FvgqIFk i posted it on you tube last year he just posted it in feb.. did i get ripped off or what? so any way to tell if i got a lq9 or not?
  19. I did a compression test my self yesterday and here is what i came up with #'s 2, 6, and 8 are around 160 psi and # 4 is around 110 psi. so there is deffantly something going on in there, the problem has gotten a lot worse sence nelson performance had my truck, so maybe thats why the test came out bad this time.. i talked with the guy who i purchased my motor from, he is willing to send me a complete head that has about 28xxx miles on it, with a new head gasket and head bolts, free of charge. they should be here by thursday, so friday i will remove the head and take a look at it and see if those valves are messed up.. the only reason i am saying its not a bad lifter, is becasue of the back fire around 50+ mph. i think that ticking noise in the video is from massive exhaust leaks. i will have those fixed in a week when i take the truck back up to nelson to have him fix a few other things. haha sorry if i was that bad at using the camera i was just trying to get short video of everything..
  20. Hey anyone have a set of lq9 heads in decent shape. if your willing to seperate them that would be apreciated. i really only need one
  21. compression test ran fine, i can hear it making a tapping noise now that i have put about 200 miles on it. its deffantly something in the head. here is a vid, you cant really hear it here this was takn this morning.. after i did this vidoe i changed the plug out, it was soaked in gas. http://s70.photobucket.com/albums/i105/_Ch...=newvids001.flv
