  1. I understand the logic behind your opinion...but I cant afford the heads right now and i would like to match the cam and converter...instant gratifaction I guess, but I would feel good results, and mabey I could think ahead and figure out what heads I will need to work well with my setup........I dont know mabey it just wont work, but hopefully, for my sake I can find a good match...

if i was you i would call texas speed or thunder racing

  2. There is absolutely no way that a stock 4L60E will ever handle 500ft/lbs torque....in a nutshell, this is what I can think of off the top of my head of what you will need........

    camshaft

    hardened pushrods

    valve springs

    larger injectors

    stall(to match your cam choice)

    shift kit

    billet servos

    allumunum accumulator pistons

    larger trans cooler

    LT headers(if in your budget)

    tuning

    gaskets, fluids, etc.

What is your budget and goals for the truck?

    ya i was way off..

with a shift kit could it handle around 425 ft/lbs?

  3. -i agree with black2003ss if you had the budget go with a 6.0 swap

    -fireman has everything listed

    -transmission- www.finishlinetrans.com

    -everything else- www.texas-speed.com, www.thunderrracing.com, www.futralmotorsports.com

    -tuning- www.gowheatley.com, www.blackbearperformance.com, www.zippyperformance.com

  4. what are your future goals?

idk about the 4.8 but on the 6.0 the stock 4l60e can handle some added power but i would get a shift kit and servos.

if your gonna add nitrous or any kind of power adder later then it would be better to get a built unit

then looking for a cam look for a 112 lobe seperation (LSA)

    stock 4l60e i think maybe 500 hp/torque

ppl on here with mp112 can maybe get by with a shift kit and a lil bit of trans mods but most go with built units

stall depends on the cam but its better to get a cam that matches the stall not the other way around

valve springs will be a must

  5. What is a popular cam for our trucks? My truck is a dd. Im just going to do boltons. I want a 2600 stall, nothing to big. My future goals dont matter because my future consists of building a new motor.

    Any opinions?

I was also thining about going to pat g from ls1tech for advice

  6. I am not a Dallas fan obviously but how can you really say they didn't disappoint? With all the money they just got done spending on contracts for their star playing they should of guaranteed their fans at least a playoff spot. It did come down to the wire but I myself would expect more, I know I would if the Eagles spent that much $$$ on players.

Eagles and Dallas game is always a good match up, but it usually does work out that Dallas beats us the first game and we win the second, Dallas needs to get their Nov, Dec record better because its horrible over the years. Good Luck next year dallas fans

every nfl team has a salary cap so they cannot buy more. if they didnt have a cap they would have everyone. cowboys is the richest nfl org.

  8. If you want competitive power, the 2 guys at the top of my list are:

    Harold Brookshire

    (662) 562-4933

    [email protected]

    Mike Jones

    Jones Cam Designs

    Denver, NC

    www.jonescams.com

    (704) 489-2449

Both of these gents computer model cams profesionally, working on all forms of motorsports and are involved in top-drawer NASCAR efforts as well. Harold is semi-retired, he's the ex-owner/brains of UltraDyne Racing Cams, and in the last several years has designed the VooDoo line of LS cams undfer contract for Lunati. Expect either of them to charge you a consulting fee in addition to the cost of the actual grind but they are gods in the industry.

BUT as you are N/A using stock heads and manifold it might be that a custom cam grind might not get you any faster down the track than say a VooDoo or Comp XER cam. :dunno:

    Mr. P. :)

i have some tsp stage 2.5- 5.3 heads with .040 cometic gaskets

and i might get me a fast but im still deciding on it

  9. You'll be fine. Install it and enjoy. What are your cam specs you are going with?

    im still deciding.

i had a tsp torquer v2 but i sold it.

trying to get some custom grinds.

im going to call tsp again then thunder racing see what they think.

do you know anybone else who does custom grinds?

i called futral and they gave me too small of a cam for what i was shooting for.

i even told them my power goals/quarter times.

  10. i am basically stock right now i just have a couple bolt-ons.

i have a 3200 pi tripple disc stall and i was goin to install it.

i am doing a cam and head swap like 2 or 3 months after.

would the stall be too much for now?

i know that pi's are tight so wouldnt that help me out without cam and heads?
