  1. Will the OBX headers fit a 2006 2wd model? I don't know why not, but thought I would check.
  2. I really appreciate all the info. I haven't quite made up my mind on the headers. I would really like some Dynatech, but can not justify the price. I live here in rural Oklahoma and 1/2 the pickups are running without cats, so I am pretty sure I will go with the OBX headers. For the price difference I will be able to get them coated plus a tune and more. As for why I want them coated, Fireman31 pretty much explained it for me. Thanks guys.
  3. I am really looking at the OBX headers, due to price, and was wondering how/where one would go to get these ceramic coated. I live out in BFE and have no clue where one would go to get these done. Thanks in advance for any help.
  4. They just recently did a big piece on this here on the news in Oklahoma. Stations started doing a 10% blend without telling people and people's gas mileage really did drop. The did lots of tests and had tons of examples. One lady went from like 27 to 21 mpg. She had a newer car and had a complete tune-up and new tires and still no change. Stations started posting no ethanol, and in her case it went right back up. In fact, Oklahoma passed a law because of it that starts July 1st, that says all gas stations must post any ethanol concentrations in their gasoline. Now as far as performance, I would agree probably no difference.
  5. I have a gmpp cat back exhaust. Will these headers bolt up? If not what would it take to fit?
  6. I lucked out and got one off of ebay new for $180 shipped from a chevy dealer in NY. I love the sound; however, my truck does not to seem as peppy since I put it on. It looks like I need to get my truck tuned like the rest of you to take advantage of the CAI and exhaust.
  7. Are you still doing them? I am very impressed by what I have seen on here from you. I thought that I read that you are no longer doing this, so I hadn't asked before now.
  8. I have been searching around for ported throttle body. I am just looking for a stock ported tb. I have searched around and found some from Jantzerperformance. Does anyone know if they do good work? I have found the how to by SS_bnoon_SS, but would rather leave the porting up to someone with some experience. I want to keep my tb and get one that is ported. Any suggestions? Thanks.
  9. No plans to lower it. So, the numbers would be the same for the 2006 as what I have been seeing for the 04-05?
  10. I have a 2006 GMC Sierra performance edition, stock height, that I purchased recently with 65000 miles on it. From what I have read it should have the exact same suspension as an SS 2wd. I am interested in Bilstein shocks and have found part numbers here and on the website, but not for 2006 models. Any difference? Anyone have any better suggestion for shocks? Thanks in advance for any help.
  11. I just purchased a GM Performance Parts SS exhaust new off of ebay for $150 and put on my 2006 GMC performance edition and it needs a nice tip. I really like the dual tips, does any one know if the Corsa 4" Pro-Series will fit? Any suggestions would by welcomed, thanks.
  12. 66,500 on an 06 gmc v-max
  13. I think it just took the computer a little getting used to the extra air. After a few days of around town driving, she runs much better.
  14. Ok, got it in and put it on. I can definately hear the air rushing in, put my truck will barely spin the tires now. Before it would go forever. Is this normal?
  15. I just went ahead and ordered the one for the Silverado SS, it also is the one that pops up for a Sierra Denali with 6.0L. Thanks for your help. Thanks to the forum, I found one with powercore filter at performancecenter.com for $247 shipped.
  16. Which CAI part# is correct for my truck? I have a 2006 GMC ext-cab Vortec Max 2wd with the Sierra Performance Package. I have found 2 part numbers depending on which site you go to. One is 15053, which is what the Volant site says for GMC, and the other is 15153 which fits the silverado ss models and other chevys, and I have found a couple of sites that give this as an option when I pick 2006 GMC with 6.0L. Does it matter? I really hope that the 15153 will fit b/c I can get this one with the PowerCore dry filter already installed. Thanks in advance for any help.
