  1. I sold the SS to pay bills, now I have a 1995 Silverado K1500 with a 350. ugh........anyways, I found a totaled 2001 Denali for $3000. Could i make a swap from the 350 to a LQ4/4L60E? Is there a kit out there? Would it fit? Know anybody with a similar swap?
  2. Well I got my 22's powder coated black, and oh boy, they turned out terrible. The 'accredited shop' is ran by somebody who just didnt know what he was doing. I was washing the truck a couple days ago and while I was washing the front drivers wheel with the mitt, a huge 2" square flaked off. When I first got them, they looked awesome! I think I have pics, if not ill get some. I just had to get that off my chest.

    Scarlett

Project Scarlett, I have big plans for her... which includes a 408 (which I already have the long block, but it sorta drained the budget for now) and a exterior make over with candy apple red.
  4. My 04 has a little over 101,xxx on her. Still running stong. Except for last night, started making a rattling noise up front. Seems to speed up while accelerating and the oppisite. Thinking its a front wheel bearing, replacing both anyways, We'll see.
  5. I recently hit a snow burm and my front cover is demolished. Along with cladding that was dinged when I bought the truck, might as well get it done at once. I need: Front Bumper Cover (with vents) Drivers side behind rear tire cladding Maybe if somebody out there has a Rollpan (smooth with center license plate box), or a Big Mouth Grille. ALL in Victory Red. Dont want to paint anything.
  6. Got my 22's, 2/3.5 lowering kit, and spent the night in a-town. Ordered my LoRider bed cover, which will be in mid next week, I'll be back up for that.
  7. The main thing this topic is about is...... The drivers High Beam doesn't work AT ALL, now that I have installed the HIDs and the relay (that I have takin out). The lows work great. I pull and hold the flasher in while driving, to at least get the passanger high on with the lows. Could a that huge fuse (4 in 1) be bad? (in the fuse box under the hood)

  9. I installed 8K lowers and 6K highs along with a Summit High4 Relay.... The lows and highs worked before installing the relay, now the lows and the passenger High comes on, not the drivers high. I tested the ballast and the bulb, and thats all good. So I figured its the relay, so I took it out and it's still screwy. Its like there isn't power getting to the ballast. A friend of mine has a silverado and it did the same thing, but he fixed it and went to jail for some weird thing. So I cant ask him. Anybody help!!! Im going to radioshack in a hour to pick up the diode for the high4 mod. Please.
  10. Went to anchorage to get windows tinted as CarToyz, they look good (even though I asked for a 4" brow and it looks more like a 7" brow). Right next to them is UnderGround, they seem like a good company... might have to get them to tune the ss when I'm done. Done spending money until November (even though that never tends to be the case), saving for a LSX, and everything I could ever want engine wise. My goddamn drivers highbeam isn't working, everything from the HID up works, somewhere in between the swith and the headlight connector is the problem. Other then that, lifes good. Looking for a drive before the snow comes, anybody?
  11. I finally got tint on, 5% back and rear doors, 20% driver and passenger and 4" brow. They did a good job, nice communication and all that, it did take 5 hours though (45 minutes to install, the rest to make sure no air pockets would form and let the adhesive dry a little). Lifetime warranty on the labor and the tint, so if it starts peeling or fading, I can go in and they will replace it for free. All in all, they are a good company to get tinted, go there if your in AK.
  12. WOW!! I feel dumb...... I just saw the "projectors and 8000K's" thread below mine, I just whizzed right by it before posting this..... Sorry my bad, if i could delete this thread I would, but..... I'm a newbie. WOW!
  13. As I have made my way through the gallery's and various photos, I've noticed that not very many SS's have projectors. Why is that? Dont work very well, dont look good, what? And............... do HID's fit in projectors? Does anybody know, or take a guess. Dumb questions, but I love the concept of a concenrated beam mixed with HID brightness.
  14. Where I live, it's no longer a fix-it ticket............. just a $250 straight up ticket AND you have to remove the tint so they can retest it................. It totallly SUCKS considering you cant roll the windows down in 10 degree winter weather with snow blowing everywhere, but during the summer im totally tricky. If I see a cop up ahead and its raining out, i'll pull off at the next road, even if its not where I was going and wait for him to pass. HAHA!!! Take that 5-0.
  15. I'd be glad to post pics....... if somebody didn't steal my camera from my truck,(guess I wont be leaving the windows down at the gas station anymore, even though I was inside for a total of 2 minutes!!!) Well I'm back in Slowdotna for 2 weeks, gonna put in my 6000K HID highs, the battery relays, 160* thermo, and the HI-4 kit. Anymways thatnk for the intro's and see ya out there.
  16. Riddler I work for ASRC, i'm working in the cook inlet on the platforms. I was switched yesturday to a 2x2 rotation, oh well.... I WISH I could get a 4x2, thats where the $'s at. Either way I'm hoping for the turbo and intercooler in another 2 rotations, at the latest.
  17. Hey, I've checked out the site for months now, but only recently did I finally get my SS. Its a stocker for now, with the exception of 8000K HID's in the lows and of course the SilveradoSS.com window decal on the rear doors on both sides. I work for an oilfield contractor as a welder on a 3x1 rotation, so its only a matter of time till I get the turbo, tranny, locker, and then exterior mods. I'm planning on it being done by next may, so I go to Wasilla Raceway. I want window tint all around, but its illegal here on the peninsula, I got fix-it tickets 3 times in a month when I had my old F150. I'm tired of tickets. Anybody ride in here? snowmobiles, snowmachines, sleds, whatever you want to call them, hit me up this winter, as the guys I used to ride with sold their sleds to get FORDs!!! I mean what the hell? But, it does feel good to whoop their brand new $38K F150's. I'll get pics soon. All I have are the dealer pics (which dont do justice), considering that I have waxed it 2 times in the last 3 weeks and washed at least every other day.
  18. From the looks of their website, it looks like somebody's garage and not a proffesional shop. This really cleared things up on who I should buy from. I went to Trick Turbo's and I wish I would've known about them sooner, NOW I've made up my mind. Two questions.... Does the Hi-Mount kit produce alot of under hood heat? I'm thinking a cowl hood and E-fans would exhaust the heat for the most part. And... Does anybody know of a shop in anchorage that will tune my computer after the install? I cant seem to find one online. Ohh yeah..... Totally unrealated but, I finally installed my 8000K HID's in my lows and DAMN!! I wish I would've made the transission sooner.
  19. Is TRT a good company? Products? Services? Anybody have anything to say about them? Positive or not. I'm thinking about buying the Stage 3 from TRT in 3-4 more months, and just finishing up some research. Now... I live in Alaska and I'm not sure if the turbo location is suitable for winter driving (with the snow and ice) Opinions about winter driving? Problems? I'm thinking that I'll cut a hole in the bottom of the bed, in the front right corner, to put the air intake. That and a bed cover would protect it from water intake. Build a cage of 3/32" expanded steel, to protect the filter. it'll look and perform way better then this post makes it sound (like some hillbilly rig up). So that's not the problem, the problem is.... would snow and ice cool the turbo down too fast? Would the steel (of the turbo) expand and cool down to fast and become brittle, causing fractures? Opinions? Thanks for the Help.
