  1. Whoa thats some serious stuff .. um well, the ac system doesnt have to be charged to perfection lol..but yeah you need to have a guage on the high side while you add coolant to the low side, and you want to watch the pressure when the a/c system turns on (compressor clutch turns on) and make sure it doesnt exceed like 220 or so psi while the clutch is engaged.. I'd have to see pictures of the kit and engine to tell u wut to do if your still gonna do it yourself
  2. Here's the deal on this.. My friend's '05 taco prerunner (2wd) had drums in the rear. Drum brakes dont get nearly as bad brake fade throughout heavy braking. Like, virtually no brake fade actually, because it runs on servo action. Basically the pads get jammed really hard into the drum (servo = pads push out, catches the spinning rotor, gets pushed down like a ****** and slams into an iron like stopper), so even if its ridiculously hot, it will still stop you. 4 Wheel discs are better, but if your goin pretty fast and you keep stoppin hard, going and stoppin hard again, the brakes will start to lose some serious braking power. Drums are just for lessening bad brake fade, and they work more effectively on heavier stuff like trucks
  3. Well, besides having to get a custom driveshaft, spring and shock mountings, etc (if it doesnt fit, i dont know if it does or not)... The diffs from these sss's are friggin tough as crud. Plus, they have a limited slip from the factory. that means two wheel burnouts suckas. Really really tough mostly but the LSD helps
  4. Honestly though, the only Jap cars I'll ever buy are just camrys for grocery store trips, but a Supra for track (I really dont prefer the looks really, i think the widebody is like, Toyota, wtf), and a little STi for dirt roads. Those little imprezas are soo much fun on dirt. But keep them on the dirt because there 4 cylinders Lol !!! All my other fast cars would be domestics, ie GTOs, Camaros, maybe a stang (Ahh dont stab me) and an sss for cruisin . Toyotas are just nice cuz they dont break down. Not that chevys do, but you know what i mean
  5. Move aside everyone, this is my territory. Lawl jk. Seriously though, the supra has a good motor and whatnot, but even i would never drop to that level !!!!!! Its a clean setup, but wow, please not another Tokyo Drift moment (skyline POS into a 60's stang) Yeah leave the pride of American Muscle to American Muscle, not rice. Really, I love supras, but a classic Camaro like that should sound like some sick muscle, not Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr RRRRRRRRRRRRRR (RRR.. = boost) Haha, yeaaaaaah
  6. No its cool Rausche..i get crud like that mixed up a lot..and who cares about the ac system right...blowers and turbohs an stuf are funner anyhow loolllll. yeah just bein stupid. u prbly just got the old r-12 and the r134a mixed up or somthin
  7. Blackbeast is right. If you havent done it yourself or dont know anyone who has, I'd just take it to a shop.. Blowin your ac system wuld probly suck, ive never done it but im sure it sucks real bad lollll Those kits for 30$ work , but yeah the ac system is a little more advanced than say changing your drop in K&n or wutever, its not that hard but you can screw crap up if you dont know what your doin
  8. For those of you who haven't seen this (hope its not a repost) http://videos.streetfire.net/video/sore-lo...in-50_46154.htm I'm pretty sure this is Parish's z71. Its not an sss but still a chevy. Love how the guy sucks and gets repeatedly owned
  9. Yeah those gas additives are pretty cruddy.. If you really, really loved your truck, like if you read it stories and kiss it good night, id take her apart and replace the small stuff that doesnt need machine work and stuff and clean it yourself, but you gotta have skills lol wutever
  10. Whoa lawl chill out.. K I will admit, its really not that terrible, haha go buy somethin with really high output, ie 800 hp and see what happens though.... That crap will break so fast its not even funny. The real way to clean your crap is to take the engine apart at like, 100k or so and every 50-100k after that and just replace the small cheap stuff and clean it up a little..youd be surprised how much that helps an engine to last longer (my unc's land cruiser ran way past 400k without a full engine rebuild).... Sure it wont hurt in low concentrations and what not, but its really ineffective every 20th tank..on a high output engine (the sss 6.0 ie), crap is actually engineered for the flow of fuel..the pistons are optimized for the right entrance angle and crap on the piston head, so there usually isnt a lot of carbon buildup..sure its not gonna hurt but why waste the money on the stuff? It doesnt need it that often.. and you dont gotta put a huge "MISINFORMATON" like that unless your a douche (Lol jk), but sure seafoam doesnt hurt (still debatable). What I wouldnt do though is put it through vacuum systems like the brake booster. I've honestly heard of bad things happening when you do that (internal rubber gaskets and stuff). wutever though, its your truck
  11. Yeah there like .0003 megapixels , but .0003 megapixels of pure ownage Haha thanks for the welcome everyone. And wody, you know of any good shops around the west Summerlin area? i live up by costco and I know of a few places around, but I don't wanna be fixin any '93 ford taurus's.. I'm sure you know how that goes lawl Thanks in advance
  12. Seafoam is for old camrys and hondas lol..dont use that stuff on your truck..its bad stuff. Seafoamin ur car what you do if your lazy and you dont want to do a proper cleanup..plus its meant for really old friggin ferd countours and stuff. Stuff with a lotta carbon buildup..Your truck wouldnt have enough to be effective. It would harm it more than it helps
  13. Hey dude, I actually just changed out the ac on my 96 suburban (yeah i know lawl). Um, youve gotta check the pressure in the system before you put any in. Turn the engine on and run the ac on the highest possible. If the a/c clutch kicks in at all, then you know you have some refrigerant still in the system, and the pressure will probably be around 100 psi or so. If the ac clutch never spins, then your gonna need more than just 1 can of the stuff. And btw, there no such thing as R-134b lol, R-134a and R-12 (freon, from cars from like 95-below) are the only refrigerants available The low side should have a blue or black cap and the high side should have a red one..but dont put it in until you make sure. The high side runs well over 200 psi on a full charge. That'll blow crap up in your face or somthin. Yeah and your gonna want to get some flourescent dye for it. If theres no refrigerant left, then theres a leak somewhere because its supposed to be a closed system. And yeah, your gonna need to take it to a shop because they have the proper high/low side guages.. But yeah just post up a pic of your engine and ill tell you where to put it
  14. Yeah, I'm pretty big into supras. Not the whole rice bodykit / spoiler / friggin tin can exhaust Fast and Furious supras, lawl but they're pretty decent for their price and easy to mod. Haha wody's girl.. I was the dude who took pics of Wody's truck on Summerlin parkway..don't know if he told you about that or not. Anyhow, thanks for the warm welcome and see everyone around.
  15. Hey everyone.. Just new to the boards. Yea, my name sucks lol but its all good. Chevy owns. But yeah, I'm BretSS's buddy, so just here to introduce myself i guess. See everyone around
