    Lq4?/lq9?

Thanks man. I've been wondering that forever! Haha! Are there casting numbers that specify which is which? And where are they?

    Lq4?/lq9?

Ok guys I feel really dumb for not knowing this, but what in the world is the difference between a LQ4 and a LQ9? I have a 2003 SSS. What motor is this? Are all of the SSS engines the same "LQ-" classification? Just lookin for some knowledge. Thanks.
  3. Welcome to the site! Nice choice in rides! Any mods on the ZO6?
  4. Long tube headers and a torque converter. Nice kill. Was that a "type R"?!! Hahaha!!
  5. Thanks alot guys! I appreciate the tips! As for now I don't have much done. Just a set of 13" Magnaflows, a K&N drop in filter, and a Hypertech programmer (BOO!) But when I do something, I plan on all or nothing! Plus I just love the sound of a big cam! lol! Oh yeah and I did think about a converter/ shift kit & servos. Do you really think I'll need new rockers to run that cam?
  6. I'm thinking about putting a cam in my truck pretty soon, and just figured I'd get some opinions first. My friend had the same cam in a 05 GTO so idk if it would be good for me or not. It is a HPE (Horsepower Engineering) C-CAM, 236/238 duration, .601/.605 at .050 lift, 112 LSA. He says he bought a cam kit that came with 7.400 pushrods by Trickflow, triple valve springs with keepers and retainers by Patriot Performance, a new crank pulley/ bolt/ and belt. With a set of LT headers and a CAI would this setup be possible?! Help!
  7. I went to NTI (NASCAR Technical Institute). It's in Mooresville, NC. Actually, I learned a whole lot! As far as the cost, it's a little expensive but the knowledge was worth it for me. If you are planning on attending I would say go for it! But remember it is only worth what you put into it. So don't just plan on 'passing is good enough', becuase it's not. ....study a bunch.....It will pay off.
  8. Cool man! that's a little bit of a drive for me so i'd have to plan a trip, but when i can i would like to meet up with you guys and race.
  9. haha! sorry but not really. I don't keep up with sports very much. I bleed torque basically! lol!
  10. Hi everybody! I'm new to the site and was just wondering if anyone from around Knoxville, TN might want to get together and have a mini-meet? Lol! Anyway I'm learning how to use the site more and more, and will also keep you guys posted on any mods that I do/may do!
  11. Dang I really can't stand people that try to steal sh#t! I would love to catch some theivin a#@ tryin to mess with anybody's ride! glad to hear that you and your kid didn't get hurt though! Keep those eyes peeled man!
  12. Hey man nice truck! Just to let you know, I bought a programmer and it definitely IS NOT worth the money. IMO you should get a Wheatley/Zippy tune FTW! Good luck with your mods!!
  13. hey man i'm new here but that build sounds so sweet! mad props and good luck with everything else!
  14. I'm new to the site but am in total agreement with magnaflow! IMO magnaflows sound awsome, but then again i am sorta a newbie!
  15. yeah i goofed up and bought a Hypertech programmer for my truck before i stumbled on this site...definitely a big waste of money. much disappointment and now i can't find anyone to pawn it off on. LOL!
  16. Hello everyone! I 'm new to the site but have had my SS for about 4 months now. Anyway, I like that grill man! Although I do kinda agree with others on the lower bowtie...not to crazy about it in the lower grill. In the upper grill I think it would bring the whole setup together. IMO.
