  1. So when i really accelerate hard, pretty much floored. I will get a flashing check engine light but no codes are stored in the computer. THis also happened when i was going about 105 mph, truck didnt want to go any faster then the check engine light flashed again. Any ideas? Usually flashes for about 10-15 secs.
  2. Premium fuel in Anchorage Alaska is 90 octane i guess, i cant find anything higher at the pump.

  4. Im looking at going back to a stock airfilter setup if anyone has one for cheap, would prefer for it to be local but i dont that will happen.

  7. Black 04 ss with 40 k miles in Anchorage, Alaska, has lowering kit(spindle), k&n filter system, full billet grille, projector headlights, clear corner, led taillights, amp and 2 10 inch subs, black in color, drop in bedliner and maybe more, whats this truck worth?
  8. Well i cleaned the junkyard MAF and took it for a test run and the code come back within a few miles, so im gonna clean my original and see what happens. The truck is going to the dealer for a wack cluster, so maybe ill ask for them to check into the cats at the same time. THis dealer has been a good dealership for warranty work on our junk 2000 6.5 diesel.
  9. i really like the factory 20s but i think 22s fit my truck better, does anyone make close to factory style alloys?
  10. Does it do any damage to the truck if i drive it around with a gummed up maf sensor?
  11. So i took my truck in to the shop for a p0430 code, they said it was the mass airflow sencer. So i put a junk yard one in and about day later the same code came back. Is there any way to test the mass airflow sencer? Im gonna see if the junk yard will swap it out with other. I got a k&n filter, they said that was the cause, but it wasnt over oiled?

  13. I checked my milage with 90 octane ( 120 highway miles) and my milage jumped up to 18 mpg from 15.5. Quite a bit of improvement. But it was a one way trip and it might have been slighly down hill? seward to anchorage
  14. dang it, the more i read on these trucks, the more i want to sell it. I thought getting a gas engine with less torque would cure the breakage problems of the drive train. I might just have to get the old 12v dodge diesel on the road again. Not even a month into this truck and already losing interest.
  15. So i just filled it up again, with 90 octane. Is that enough octane, i thought that they used to sell like 92 octane for the good stuff at the pump?

  18. also i just had an engine code p0430 , it turned out to be a bad mass airflow censor. I cleared that code and have only driving 10 miles.
  19. So my 04 Silverado ss has this noise. First you will only hear it when the engine is under a load , so like when it shifts into say 4th and the engine feels to be making the most torque, if i put my foot into it as much possible before it down shifts , it gets slightly worse. Its hard to tell if the noise is there at hi rpm. This noise is kinda like a bearing or rattle/wobble noise? 2nd today i was messing around with the truck and decided to rev it up in park, not to redline but a pretty good rev and it sounded like something was rattling around in the engine. I was at probably 2k and quickly revved to 4k, when the engine was un revving is when it made the noise. Any ideas? It seems to idle just fine and runs good, no noise at idle.
