I deal with D&D TRANS. They have done me right quit a bit with the T56. And when i find a truck and do this some day the fabricating would be cake for me. That part wont be a problem at all. I wish i could get on and see other members on here so i can get some pics of these setups. And for the gearing, Well have to do some math. and work it out to be the best match on that swap also with the trans and see if you would need to change any gearing inside to make it more reliable. And pritty much go from there i would think.

It Should be fine if you installe a racing clutch and so forth on these trucks, Will hold up to the extra weight. And if i end up getting a 2WD SS im putting 4.10 rear gears in her with a T56 for sure. AND some small head and cam package with blower down the road.

Just woundering if anyone ever did this. Hooked up a T56 6sp on a silverado SS as of yet. I now that its pritty impossible with the AWD ones but the 2wd its should be cake..

Hey all just wanted to say hi, I had a 2003 arrival blue Silverado SS i bought new in 2004 but i had to sell her about 2 yrs ago, But going to be looking for a nother one hopefully over winter and spring. Want it blue again for sure. I LOVED THAT TRUCK. but anyway I live in Mich. The Three Rivers area. I run my own shop called Pace Fabricating As well as a full time employee of AM GENERAL CORP In south bend, In Been there since 2002. I love building cars, and things of that nature. The current project is a 1992 camaro that i have built and been building for 6 yrs now. Pro touring / Pro Street. planning on that to be on the road next summer.
