  1. As far as the window thing goes. I think everyones does that unless you have a crazy awesome electrical system.

I have 2 batteries and the stock 145 amp alt and sometimes it will just drop down to 13v and take a couple minutes to rise back to 14.4 and that's with no draw on it that I'm aware of. I woildnt be to worried. As long as it hops back up in a reasonable amount of time.

Thanks. I think I'll leave it alone. I won't be driving truck as much any more. Getting a car to drive more in summer time and using truck for more towards winter driving.

  2. I have an issue with voltage also. If I turn everything on, lights(hid) Heater, heated seats. Radio(stock), fog lights and engine in gear. Rear defrost, voltage drops and then it seems to take awhile but eventually the engine rpm will kick up and then will see the 14 volts. Would installing a 2nd fusilink resolve this issue and give me enough voltage at idle. Noticing even if I just pull the power window switch up position and window is already up the draw in power will cause a voltage drop. I get concerned at idle that the truck will stall.

Note I have an optima battery and newer 145amp alternator. Stock alternator died, about 3 years ago.

  3. the harness should be tucked right by the frame taped up to the rest of the harness... i plan on doing some fogs EVENTUALLY and went under and checked for the harness and just like chpspecial told me its there, the OEM foglight switch will plug right in the stock location...

found the harness, got the OEM switch, just need actual fog lights :glare: ...

Does anyone have a pic of harness or the existing wires. I recently bought fog lights and I cannot find any existing wires or harness. I have a 2003 Sss.

  4. I figured that much, I'm on at Camaro5 just about as much as I am here, I knew SLP was working there own version of the ZL1 but the new car sales manager over at my dealership was adamant that the ZL1 was just a package thru SLP. When I asked him why the placard at the autoshow didn't clarify that he was stumped. I was just passing along info that was fed to me. Not trying to misinfom anyone.

    I hear ya.

Must have been funny when the sales mgr was stumped, the expression on their face must have been priceless. LOL.

  5. I was curious about the ZL1myself so I took a trip to my dealership yesterday, I was told that its like the 4th gem SS camaros were, you pick the SS of your choice and for another $40,000 they send the car to SLP to have the ZL1 package installed. So your pretty much paying for 2 SS camaros. Depending on what trim SS you purchase your ZL1 will cost anywhere from $70,000 to $80,000. To verify the truth to this I asked 2 other Chevy dealerships and they gave me the same answer.

    Most dealership's don't have a clue.

The Chevy ZL1 is not the same as the SLP version of the ZL1. Check Camaro5.com website. Or even Chevy.com website.

Even my local dealership has no clue!

  6. So far no news on covetable version of zl1. Latest news: posted on June 11th on camaro5.com

The Camaro ZL1 will receive an Automatic Transmission option, as well as the Performance Traction Management from the Corvette ZR1. Al Oppenheiser (Camaro chief engineer) told this to our members in attendance, at the Camaro Homecoming Event in Oshawa, Canada

In addition to announcing an automatic transmission option and performance traction management from the Corvette ZR1 for the 2012 Camaro ZL1, Al Oppenheiser (Camaro chief engineer) also made it clear at the Camaro homecoming at Oshawa that:

Camaro ZL1’s horsepower numbers will be higher than the 550hp of the CTS-V

ZL1’s start of production will be in the 1st quarter of 2012

    I will be getting one!

Also for 2012 GM has slightly increased the price of the corvette, can only assume to get the zl1 in line under the corvette.

Also the 45th anniversary model was revealed back in April.

  7. Camaro5.com has all the latest news and if you go to chevy.com website you can signup for email alerts. Keep your eyes open there is suppose to be a new camaro model reveal in April. Current rumors is a anniversary edition or z28 model???

  8. Truely a sad day for GM and the High Performance Division. I was really hoping for a new Sivlerado SS to come out, but I guess with the current conditions of the ecomony, don't plan on seeing a new Silverado SS to come out any time soon. For me, just means I'll keep my 2003 Silverado SS alot longer. For those worried about the Camaro SS see the link below, should be no problems there. But for anything new, in the future for performance vehicles, pretty much confirms as being dead. I just hope that it is just like what Ford did with its SVO team and just take a breather for a few years and then come back, but I guess time will tell.
