  1. Hmm, well thanks for clearing that up. I will check the coolant level. The message hasn't showed up in a while, it did a couple times but went away and I never had an issue with the engine overheating, just the trans temp being very cool.
  2. Well the bottom left gauge (below the fasten seat belt light and high beams light) always stays at 100 except for the couple of times it creeps up 10-20 or so. Once upon a time my dash said LOW COOLANT LEVEL, I have bought coolant (the orange kind) and am ready to put more in. Why does this gauge always read 100? When I put the coolant in do I need to drain the original fluid or can I just top it off?
  3. Welcome, most all of us own these trucks, we love 'em too
  4. Look better in person, I also apologize for the camera phone!
  5. I would literally kill to have a C6!!! That's my next big purchase, brand new!
  6. Thanks for the link to adams and that information. He has videos on his website too! I will try to buff out a small area of my paint and see how it goes one day soon. Do harbor freight buffer's work as well as the porter cable ones? I want something cheaper really..
  7. Nice buy man. I am envious for all you gentlemen (and ladies?) with much less than my 132k miles, ha!
  8. Holy Toledo! I am positive there was a death!
  9. I'd love to do it myself. I am afraid of messing it up even more! If I have a solid fool proof guide to get the surface clean, buffed free of any and ALL swirl marks, I can easily do touch-up paint and polish, and get it re waxed or polished back to a mirror shine. Then that would help wonders!
  10. This has been on my mind for a couple of years now. Over time I have developed swirl marks (bad ones!! it's very ugly) and I need to remove them and get it back to showroom condition (not just saying that, I mean not a scratch in the paint perfect, like the day I got it). I know one of you smart guys knows a lot about detailing and how I should go about this. I definitely need it buffed out, then touch-up paint where it's needed, and re-polished back to a glassy black shine! What is a good process to do this? Should I just get a professional (have a guy that could do it for a couple hundred, minus the touch-up paint though )?
  11. I'm sure they will fog, but I'll find a solution later. I am bout to place my order and should have pictures and installed in a week.
  12. Here's an auction with a truck pictured, looks good to me! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2003-2006-CHEVY-SILVERADO-HEAD-LIGHTS-BUMPER-BLACK-4PC-/320597678388?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Make%3AChevrolet|Model%3ASilverado+1500|Year%3A2003&hash=item4aa51c5934
  13. I am not the original owner, bought at 112k (lots of highway miles...). No clue on the service, there might be information or receipts in the glove box...
  14. I want to get rid of my reflectors in my headlights, but do not want to go through all the work. I read a suggestion to buy new ones off eBay.. What do you guys think of these? Any experience with them? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/03-04-05-06-CHEVY-SILVERADO-BLACK-HEADLIGHTS-BUMPER-/230529320102?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Model%3ASilverado+1500|Submodel%3ASS&hash=item35ac9e44a6#vi-content
  15. I sometimes go to the instant Valvoline oil change service center and they often recommend, based on mileage, that I flush the transmission fluid, or yada yada.... Is it worth the money to have this type of service done? What is a good list of service options that are definitely recommended for a 132k mileage SS? Most I've done is oil changes and a couple air filters...
