  1. Well the bottom left gauge (below the fasten seat belt light and high beams light) always stays at 100 except for the couple of times it creeps up 10-20 or so. Once upon a time my dash said LOW COOLANT LEVEL, I have bought coolant (the orange kind) and am ready to put more in. Why does this gauge always read 100? When I put the coolant in do I need to drain the original fluid or can I just top it off?

  2. Thanks for the link to adams and that information. He has videos on his website too! I will try to buff out a small area of my paint and see how it goes one day soon. Do harbor freight buffer's work as well as the porter cable ones? I want something cheaper really..

  3. I'd love to do it myself. I am afraid of messing it up even more! If I have a solid fool proof guide to get the surface clean, buffed free of any and ALL swirl marks, I can easily do touch-up paint and polish, and get it re waxed or polished back to a mirror shine. Then that would help wonders!

  4. This has been on my mind for a couple of years now. Over time I have developed swirl marks (bad ones!! it's very ugly) and I need to remove them and get it back to showroom condition (not just saying that, I mean not a scratch in the paint perfect, like the day I got it). I know one of you smart guys knows a lot about detailing and how I should go about this. I definitely need it buffed out, then touch-up paint where it's needed, and re-polished back to a glassy black shine! What is a good process to do this? Should I just get a professional (have a guy that could do it for a couple hundred, minus the touch-up paint though )?

  5. I was looking to get a set of these too. I wish there was a picture of them on the truck. I dont want all clear, and I dont want full on black outs.

Here's an auction with a truck pictured, looks good to me!

  6. I want to get rid of my reflectors in my headlights, but do not want to go through all the work. I read a suggestion to buy new ones off eBay..

What do you guys think of these? Any experience with them?

  7. I sometimes go to the instant Valvoline oil change service center and they often recommend, based on mileage, that I flush the transmission fluid, or yada yada....

Is it worth the money to have this type of service done? What is a good list of service options that are definitely recommended for a 132k mileage SS? Most I've done is oil changes and a couple air filters...

  8. 03 SS, When I roll the windows up they go very sloooowwly. What is going on? I couldn't imagine the motor would be going out, could it be time for a new battery? If the headlights are on and I roll up both windows or even press the window buttons the headlights will dim (even interior lights).

  9. So I think there is not much electrical power in my truck. When I roll down the windows it travels at a decent pace. When I roll them up, especially when the truck is off, they travel very slowly and it seems like I have to sit there for like 30 seconds just to get the windows up. Then at night, after the windows are rolled up, I click the switch to act like I am rolling them up and it dims the headlights and back lights on the console until I release the switches. What is up with this?!?!

  10. $190 for a complete inside and out job, that includes wheel-wells, engine-bay, and a complete buff job to get the massive amount of swirl marks off my truck. I do have a hard-top bed cover that needs to be done too. Does that sound like a steal or can I do better? I am afraid to do it myself, if I can get it buffed out and new-car shiny clean paint, then I will maintain it better than I did before to prevent those scratches.
