  1. Thanks for the comments y'all. I hate to sell her but I'm in need of something a bit larger. I was stationed there for aboput 5 years. That's where I picked her up.
  2. Hate to do it but i'm selling my 2005 silver birch Silverado SS. It's only got 75K miles. 22" BOSS chrome rims, auto-start/alarm system, block heater, cold-air intake, flow-master exhaust, and a McGaughy's lowering kit; spindles in the front, shackles and hangers in the rear. Also has a low-profile tonneau cover which is painted to match. I am the only owner of this truck, bought it brand new off the lot in 2004. Asking $17,500 o.b.o. Email me for more pics and details [email protected].

  4. I'm just about to buy 22's for the truck...finally...I am looking at getting the Eagle Alloy 026's. I've seen them on other trucks and I can't find anything that I think looks better IMO. I was just wondering what size tire I should go with and what offset is the best for our trucks. I do have the McGaughys 2/3.5 drop on the truck. Any advice would be helpful.
  5. Thanks. I actually had my truck at the dealer for another reason. I asked them to inspect the front suspension too. The guy at the dealership told me everything was in great shape and there was no need to replace anything. I did ask him what would void the warranty and he said exactly what you did. Only if it is proven that the aftermarket parts caused the damage then it wouldn't be covered. I think Les Schwab just wanted to squeeze me for some dough. So all in all it ended up costing me $50 for the check instead of $1000 for all the stuff I didn't even need. I guess it worked out in the end.
  6. Well I took my 05 SSS to Les Schwabs to get an alignment. I was told that my pitman and idler arms need to get replaced. They wanted to charge me a fortune. I want to take to the dealer and see if they can replace the parts required under my warranty. I have a pretty good drop on the truck, 2" front 3.5" rear, the guy at Les Schwab told me the problems were do to normal wear and tear of the vehicle and the drop has no affect on it. Does anyone know if the dealer will fix this or will they say it's due to the drop which voided the warranty on the suspension? Has anyone else had this problem with these trucks? If so, what action did you guys take? Thanks
  7. Thanks for all the advice. I'm definitely going to ground it directly to the chassis. That way I can eliminate all possibilities of a bad ground.
  8. I didn't ground it to anything. I installed the GMOS-04 and just followed the directions. So I have the stereo harness ground wire connected to the gmos-04 ground wire. I figured it was going to be fine.
  9. So I recently installed a new HU in my truck and low and behold there's an awful whining coming in through the speakers. It get's drowned out when I turn the volume up but it still annoys the hell the out me. Anyone know where the best place is to ground the stereo to is? I really want to avoid doing this a whole bunch of times. Thanks.
  10. Thanks for the help. I'll definitely try the torsion bar bolts.
  11. After installing the McGaughys 2/3.5 drop on my SSS I noticed that it sits lower on the passenger side of the truck. The front driver side sits at 32 1/2" while the pass. side is at 32 1/4". The rear driver side sits at 33 1/4" and the rear pass. side sits at 32 3/4". Does anyone else have the same problem? Am I just being anal? Is there anything that can be done to correct it?
  12. Do you still have the HVAC control unit? I need one bad.
  13. I just installed a new HU (Pioneer DEH-6000UB), along with the GMOS-04 adapter for the chimes and stuff. Everything worked fine at first, I had display and sound. Then I went ahead and installed the steering wheel control adapter, that's when things went bad. After that I had no sound at all. I still have the display but nothing is coming out of my speakers. I'm not too sure how it would affect my sound if the only thing I hooked up were a ground wire and a power wire. I didn't even cut anything, I just tapped into them. If anyone has any thoughts on this, please let me know.
  14. Thanks for the advice. Much appreciated. I get the new HU in on Tuesday. I'l let you know how it all workss out.
  15. I just ordered a new HU, Pioneer DEH-6000UB, and all the required harness's/adapters to keep my steering wheel controls/chimes. I already have a sub and an amp that was installed to the factory stereo. So my questoin is this, am I going to have to do anything special to get my new HU to play nice with the sub and amp?
