  1. Haven't really found any forum in particular but if you do some searches you will see a few descriptions. Still trying to figure out how to wire the two ext switches for my garage doors.
  2. Cool thanks. The SS on black background is exactly what I wanted but now that I saw it on my deck I kind of want to see options with more going on if you know what I mean. It's pretty cool to have a nav deck boot up with 'SS' on it though.
  3. Perfect. Thank you sir. Got any more cool stuff I might like to use for this??
  4. Thanks man but unfortunately there's not enough black on the top or bottom for me to crop to the right aspect ratio. I'm good at resizing and cropping but I don't know how to add material yet. It can be a Silverado SS logo or something like that too. Real pics would work too if anyone has any suggestions. There are a couple cool ones I found of a SS taken from an angle of just the emblems but it's blue and I would prefer a red truck since I have a red one.
  5. I tried searching this forum and Google and just couldn't come up with something I liked. I want a basic metallic looking SS logo on a black or dark background. Doesn't have to be a real image and I would prefer something more CG anyway. It doesn't have to be exactly like this either. I'm open to other suggestions but needs to be at least 480 x 270 as that's what the resolution is. If it's bigger that's fine to I can just crop as needed. Post what ya got!
  6. Haha... For some reason the first time I read this I read gauge cluster instead of headlight harness. Coincidentally there is also a brown/white wire in the top left corner of that one as well so you can imagine my confusion when I couldn't get it to behave like a illumination with a meter. Good thing I decided to meter before just wiring stuff up or who knows what could have happened. I came in after 10min of probing that entire harness to read your reply and glad I didn't waste any more time messing with the wrong harness. I will go back out and test/tap the right wire and move on with my install. Just thought I would share in case you were puzzled by my previous reply talking about the gauge cluster.
  7. What about the airbag key/switch to the right of the stereo? It has a bulb that illuminates with the headlights so it would work too. Actually, I have the gauge cluster out right now and had to tap a VSS so I might as well run one more wire over while it's all out. Speaking of gauge cluster... what's the deal with these stupid things? I have a bulb burnt out at 77k miles already and everything I'm reading says that these clusters are steaming piles of cow crap. I took the two black bezels off front and rear to try to access the bulbs but it looks like the needles needs to come off to access them. Since they are self calibrating I can take off all the needles and put them back on w/o keeping track of the location and it will calibrate them afterward, right?
  8. For some reason my aftermarket deck will not go into night mode when the headlights/dash lights come on. I think I saw something that said it's a gray wire but all I find is a single gray wire with a black stripe near the center on the bottom (relative to what way is up I guess) and when I put a meter to it I can't get 12v regardless of if the lights are on or not. I saw something else that said there was no illumination wire in the factory stereo harness in 2004. Not sure which is right because I can't seem to find a wiring diagram. I have a PAC-2BOSE and it's supposed to be just plug in but I'm not getting illumination function and when I look at the PAC harness vs the OEM harness it looks like the orange illumination wire pin goes to a blank spot on the factory harness. I need to locate an illumination wire so that I can relocate the pin to the correct location.
  9. I ended up ordering the WeatherTech Digital Liner floor mats. They should be here tomorrow hopefully so I will report back what I think. There is some sort of all weather liner in the rear that's a one-piece. I'm putting a ProBox under the rear seat so I figured that floor mat would work fine since I will rarely have anyone in the back seat. I got a set for the front for only $55 from Amazon.com w/free 2-day shipping (Prime account) and have my fingers crossed that I get what I ordered. Seems to be about half the price of what I found them for everywhere else so I'm a bit concerned but they had the correct part number and everything. We'll see....
  10. These are sharp. I might have to spend a little more (about double) then what I had budgeted for floor mats. Now, if only I could find some used for about half the price.
  11. Exactly what I was thinking.
  12. Anyone have anything? Looking for something to go under the rear seat of my 04 Silverado SS that will hold two 12" subwoofers. Let me know what you got.
  13. Anyone? Looks like the mats by Highland are the popular ones on eBay. Not sure how well they fit or if they have the hook that hold them in place like the picture looks like. Still hoping to see some options to help me make my decision.
  14. I'm seeing now that the Bluetooth in these two units might be for phone calls only and not streaming MP3's from your cell phone. Can you confirm or deny the music streaming of these two decks?
  15. Long story short I just installed an Eclipse AVN52D/AVN5510 in the new truck and there is a design flaw that might be fine for most but it's a deal breaker for me. It won't stream MP3's from my cell phone... well, it will. It streams it in mono through the front speakers only. Wonderful. Not to mention that any time I click a key it momentarily mutes the audio on the deck. I suppose this can be fine if you have an iPod which I do but I'm trying to get away from using it for anything and would much prefer to stream music from my cell phone since it's always with me. This add-on Bluetooth module just isn't for me and I'm now in the market for yet another head unit that will fit my needs better. What I need here is something that's double din with built in bluetooth. I don't want an add on module included or available or some such ca ca. I want an honest to goodness built in bluetooth that allows me to control bluetooth controls via the deck itself and stream MP3's in full stereo digitally to the deck so it can play the tracks just like an audio CD that's in the deck. I was looking at some of the Pioneer offerings and the AVIC-F700BT and AVIC-F900BT appear to be more what I'm looking for and a great price but the 5.8" is too small for my liking. The Eclipse deck I have now is 7" diag so I prefer something with a smaller trim/bezel that utilizes the space better for a larger display. I'm also interested in HD radio but I guess you need to buy a separate tuner to do this so it's not a must have. I don't care about iPod compatibility because I don't even use my iPod for anything other than the iPod system that's in our master bathroom so that's where it stays. I'm open to about any make/model/brand for consideration at this point but they need to be inexpensive. I'm not looking to spend a fortune here.
  16. I've seen the diamond plate ones and they aren't quite what I'm looking for. Here's a picture of the style I'm looking for and I can find them for the rear (Husky liner?) but I can't seem to find a complete set. Anyone have any pics of the Walmart ones or can tell me where to get this style for front and rear?
  17. I finally figured out where I saw these things used in another application... our kitchen cabinets. I would guess you can get some at Home Depot, Lowe's, ACE Hardware or a cabinet shop for pennies and probably less than what it would cost to send mine to you anyway. Find a new construction neighborhood (harder to do these days) and see if they will give you some. Just some ideas worth checking into.
  18. My truck has some sad 77k mile carpeted mats and I'm a bigger fan of the rubber all weather floor mats that have the deep grooves to hold liquid. I've been looking and want to see what has what mats and how they fit. I prefer the ones that have some sort of an anchor system to hold them in place as well as some that are custom cut for the extended cab Silverado or universal ones that come REAL close to OEM fit. Bonus points if they have 'SS' logos but not mandatory. Along with pics please post manufacturer & price as well as where you got them if they're a difficult item to find. If you don't have pictures and just want to make suggestions of some to check out that is also appreciated. I'm just tired of look through eBay and local parts store trying to find something that meets my needs at a reasonable price. Thanks for the help! BTW, here's a picture of the mats that are in the Camry and if I could find these for the Silverado SS at a reasonable price I would be set.
  19. I found this thread via your center console shift how to and noticed your license plate. Thought you might like the plate I had on my AWD GM truck not too long ago: Sorry for the thread jacking but it seemed fitting. Love your truck.
  20. Is this just to maintain the door chime? Do I need to retain the factory deck someplace? Still not understanding why I need this device.
  21. 2004 Silverado SS. You keep saying I need this but what exactly does it do?
  22. Will it retain steering wheel controls? What exactly does it do? I still need a wire harness kit and dash kit so I'm curious what exactly this does and why I would need it. I'm looking to put a nav deck in so I'm just starting to research on what all I will need to do this since every vehicle is different.
