Oh yea that seems a tad extreme for plates. You can only buy 1 year stickers at a time in CA. It's a joke because they count on you being late to incur penalties (gotta get that revenue).

You're right these are Legacy Plates 60's-70's. It's an additional $45 a year on your registration in Cali. Do you have color options other than Black/White in TX?

Any updates on locating the truck?

After 16 weeks they have arrived haha! We need a running list of SSS Personalized Plates. I will post up pictures of them installed.

Wow! Thanks for the link (Just added it to my watch list). Yes I would agree it looks to be bare plastic, I need to find a good paint guy in San Diego. One of my employees backed her Beetle into my SSS, bent the rear bumper brackets and chipped/ spiderweb-ed the paint. I need to order a new bumper cover and brackets as well.

My recommendation would be Corsa or a replacement muffler with a custom dump before or after the axle. This way you can stay Cali smog legal. In regards to your second question, that is illegal and I don't believe anyone will post information pertaining to "flexible" shops. X2 on "You could put some whistle tips on it... that would change it a bit."

Whats your budget? Any future plans that would require long tubes or cat-less. There are TONS of exhaust options (Legal and illegal). I would take some time and snoop around the the Engine Technical - Bolt On Performance Section and see what fits your needs best.

Are you able to post a few pictures, and possibly find out what the exact codes are with a scan tool. Glad to help, just need a bit more info.
