  1. The only thing a grease fitting would do is to make there jobs easier and get you out the door quicker. I think they should redesign the entire steering shaft assembly to correct the problem. There are better material out there that do not wear out under normal use but they do not want to spend the money. They (GM) probably already have spent more on parts and laber than they would have to fix the problem right the first time many years ago when this all started. Just my two cents.

  2. Do you have the noise when turning or the noise around 40-60 MPH with a little peddle applied? I'm asking because there are two different growling/winding noises that this truck would make. I had the 40-60 MPH and they replaced the front differential on mine. If that is what you have I could scan the work order from my dealership and email a copy to you top present to your dealership.

  3. This is from the Service manual

  4. i install alarms and radios at my job and can say most people go far a dei 564t. its the one with a lcd remote. i personally dont have it but it seems to work very well. and about the factory alarm we work off it. we hook it up to disconect the old one and still use all factory functions on the aftermarket one. its not a big deal with a factory alarm i hooked one up to mine and havent had a problem. you should think about a remote start they are a lil more money but its not that bad when its cold or really hot out and you get your truck perfect...IMO. and to install them its not that hard.... just take your time if you rush you WIll F something up...trust me i know :banghead:
How well documented are the DEI alarms? Are the instructions good enough for a technically inclined guy to DIY?

    Mr. P. :)

DEI usualy gives you a lifetime warranty on parts but only if a DEI certified shop installs it. You can see in my sig what I have installed. 3 years and no problems yet. And the fictory alarm still works with the aftermarket.

  5. I still have the factory tires on with 57200+ miles on them (still have about a 1/16" left before they hit the wear indicator). I just ordered thru a local shope a set of 285/50/20 Yokohama Geolander H/T-S G052's. Price was $635 out the door, installed, mounted and balanced.

  6. That's what I was talking about.  Thanks RaysB4U.

    Glad I could help! :chevy:

If it's not too much trouble could you happen to get that for 05 to verify they are still the same and how about an LS2 car like say a vette of any year?

Here's the 2005 Powertrain Control Module (PCM) Connector End Views

Sorry, don't have access to the LS2 or Vette info.

Very cool thanks anyways! This will help in the future.

I have the Vet LS2. PM me your email address and I will email it to you in .PDF format.

Give me a few days. I'm in Phoenix on the way home and I'm writing this with my PDA.
