  1. Hello everyone! I have not posted here in quite awhile but some issues with my truck have lead me to begin the process of selling it and I have a question or two. About a year ago, I went to Carmax to see what they would give me for it. They told me that I did not have cats on it, which I did, and I left totally pissed off. So this time around I figured I would take it to my exhaust guy and have him write something saying that it does have cats. But in the process of writing it for me, he tells me that they will most likely not take it b/c it has longtubes and aftermarket cats. He was saying that that set up is technically illegal for street use and they cannot buy it (nor can any dealer).

     

    So I am a bit confused, I have passed inspection and have had no issues with the cats or headers ever. I have had other dealers appraise it and offer me trade in for it. So I am just wondering if what he said is true or if he was just being paranoid about the whole thing.

     

    Also, would ABS issues prevent Carmax from giving me an offer?

     

    Thanks in advance for any replies. Sucks that I came back to the forum on such sad circumstances but, I'm getting to be a poorer and poorer college kid and can't keep the truck like it should be.

  2. he said he doesnt think its the pcm but the code came 3 days after i put the new one in... :dunno:

     

    I feel bad for ya man. Maybe you can try and disconnect the battery and re-install the pcm? I have no idea if that will help but it could be as simple as that.

  3. Wait til you talk to Justin and check a few things. I saw in another thread you were talkin to a guy bout gettin another motor. I would hate to see you spend the money on a new motor and have the same problem because it is a slight tuning error, or something wrong with the o2s, or any other cheap fix.

     

    Double check them. Could be a dirty one or one that just has a bad connection.

  4. So I've got some money to spend and I was thinking of getting the TA girdle and studs. Or I was looking at getting a tru cool max. I have a small B&M cooler already but it does not do too much better than stock. The summers here are brutal and the trans is usually just a few ticks under 200.

     

    So I am open to suggestions on which you would get and why.

  5. I say lets not make everything a pissing match...

     

    We are all good at one thing or another just at different levels. Just seems as someone will take a post as a personal insult and start hurling their "expert knowledge" around and bash anyone who disagrees.

     

    I think the more appropriate and civil thing would be to say "That looks good. However if I could offer some tips to make it better, you could...blah blah blah.."

     

    However the sad truth is I am in dream world right now and someone needs to snap me back to reality...Maybe I will go re-read the TB coolant bypass thread to snap back :rolleyes:
