  1. Okay, so I fired up my truck today after doing a L92 top end swap and cam with other little goodies. This biotch does NOT want to idle and threw a lean code bank 1 and 2 (P0171,P0174). Now obviously I got a vac leak, first thing I thought was manifold gaskets, they were used but didn't look bad. So before I take the intake off and pull the gaskets for new ones, I'd like to know if there was something I could've missed. I pulled my brake booster line and hooked up a vac gauge and got 14.5 inches (+or- by .5 inches at idle). Things I checked and seemed okay:

    - map sensor is sealed

    - PCV system is sealed (I drilled and tapped my CAI for the passenger side breather vent and made sure she was sealed)

    - brake booster line sealed

    - TB O-ring sealed

    - all CAI joints are sealed

Is there anything else that I might have missed?

I didn't notice the vac leak until I started driving it, it would run away on me (1200 to 2100 rpm) and I'd have to fight it with my brakes. Then when it does calm down it'll drop to 400 rpm or just stall.

    Thanks for reading.

    have u got it tuned?

  2. Lol

Ok so I get the 90mmTB x link. I'd like to replace mine even if only for aesthetic reasons. Mine LOOKS 9 years old lol. How will that effect my tune?

My situation is I live 7 1/2 hrs away from the tuner, and I mod on the down low. My wife just thinks I got a tune and that's why it's louder and faster. She didn't even notice the rollpan instead of the bumper.

I asked my installer about doing a cold air intake (is this what you're referring to?) and he said what I have flows very well.

E fans? What do you mean?

This truck reminds me of an old 64 F100 I had out of High School that had a 429 Boss in it. It has that same big torque effortless feel to it.

these are easy bolt on's the ls2 90 mm tb x link ,intake tube will add a few more hp and electric fans will free up some hp insted of the clutch fan keep in mind u will need to retune imo gather a few parts b4 so when u ready to retune u get the most out of it happy modding

  3. Ok. Sorry for the noob questions but is ordering an LS2 through O'Reilly's a good idea? With core I can get one for about 2350.00. Or do I need to start with better internals than the ones included in the engine they offer. Other than the Maggie, what from my 4.8 could transfer over? I'm thinking T56 too. Gotta stick with a manual.

nice build man your better off building a forged motor lq9-lq4 370ci or a 408ci if your going to want reliable 500 rwhp with supporting mods like 90mm tb ,fuel pump,60lb injectors ,meth ,big cam ,lt full exhaust and maybe 4:10 gears and a true track many things u will need to accomplish those numbers last and final thing that many of us over look is our breaks hydro boost and big brakes should be some where in ur list i hope gl man .also tremic t56 6 spd would be bad ass like will's build

  4. well i was sort of thinking today how nice it would be to know what the largest tire size would fit on my drop. Im 3/4 shackle + hanger, and 2" spindles with 1" decrank. i currently run a 255/50/20 and was curious if I was in the future to buy a 275/50 if it would rub, or even a 295? would be nice to have a sticky with the most common drops along with the most common tire sizes run with the setup to have max sidewall and / or width. That way I dont buy tires that will rub ;) when i do end up needing to buy tires I can buy the perfect tire for my truck instead of guessing...

You can stick a 305/50r20 on the rear with ur stock SSS that's what I was running on my SSS wheels with a 3/4 no problems

  5. They don't have the seat belt built into the seat is the only problem.

What are u saying they do have seat belts In the seats also u can put the seats in them but need some spacers for the inside rail they have a offset becuse of the trans tunnel .
