  1. not really any damage.... a few minor scratches on the bottom of the tank... what makes me think that its not the tank is that it will only leak for a few hours then stop until i start the truck again... and that first start i need to let the pump build up pressure or it wont fire up on the first attempt it will take two... maybe im wrong but thats making me think that the gas im losing is coming from one of the lines outside of the tank and not the tank itself
  2. my truck is leaking gas down the side of the tank (passenger side, towards driveshaft)... what are the suspect things to check.... i dont think its coming from the tank itself because if i leave the truck overnight it takes two attempts to start unless i let the fuel pump build pressure and cut out.... ive had a quick look but cant really see much... just wondering if there is a few easy things to check before i dig right in and start tearing things apart... with gas prices at $1.52/litre its pretty hard watching it go down the drain in my garage floor... these trucks are hard enough on gas at the best of times dont need to be leaking it as well
  3. ok i changed the pump and it works alright but it seems like the pump dont have enough power.... like when im just sitting there idling its really hard to turn the wheel... what do u guys think... is it just another shitty pump
  4. ok thanks for the reply... im not sure if it was flushed or not but im changing it myself this time... could you explain what is involved with flushing the system plz
  5. okay i blew a power steer pump on january 21st this year and replaced it and today the god damn thing blew again... is it just bad luck or could something be causing this to happen???
  6. okay my power steering gave out and more than likely the pump is gone but is there any way to diagnose it before actually buying the parts... i was doing a donut in snow when it happened... not sure if that had anything to do with it or not
  7. the code popped up on a scan again today and this is what it says P1626 Voltage to Vehicle Load Control Module circuit not detected its not the theft deterent one that comes up when you search it on google.... anybody have any idea what is causing this
  8. i wish i knew what that meant but i dont... anybody else ever have this DTC code and if so do u know what caused it
  9. did a random diagnostics check on my 2005 SS today and got a trouble code P1626... the engine light wasn't on but this code showed up... forgot to write down the description before i cleared it but it said something about some module connection not detected or some bullshit... truck has been working perfect except one day i tryed to start up using remote start and the battery never had enough juice to crank the truck over and set off the alarm instead... never had any trouble just threw on a set of boosters and way to go ever since... anybody know if this is what might have set off the code or is it something else... the code is only recently been set off becuase i usually randomly run a diagnostics about once a week... any help is appreciated
  10. im thinking about buying a bully dog triple dog GT gas gauge/tuner for my 2005 SS.... any body ever have one of these??? any thoughts http://bullydog.com/product.php?ID=4
  11. no i dont have the truck tuned... it is totally stock except for a corsa exhaust and those magnaflow cats... i never checked the MAF or the O2 sensors because the engine light is not on and i just assumed they must be good
  12. 2005 silverado ss i had one of my stock converters break up inside and make a horrible noise so i changed both and replaced them with magnaflow high flow cats about 2 months ago... now i have the same problem again(same converter also, drivers side).... i was wondering what could cause this... is it something wrong with the engine or is it from excessive heat... i dont drive the truck extremely hard but im not afraid to slam the pedal to the floor either.... or could it just be luck is not on my side and i ended up buying a shitty faulty converter... any thoughts or suggestions for what to look for or check... truck runs perfect also... no engine light, dont burn a stain of oil... real clean engine
  13. i have an 05 silverado ss and i would like to disable the awd so i can do some showing off (burning tires).... i dont want it to be permanent just for like a day or so... is removing the front driveshaft the easiest way to do this and also would this hurt anything by doing this
