Well, good news today. Took my truck to the trans shop, slipping the whole way there. Fluid was really low. Had the tranny serviced (new fluid/filter). There were no metal shaving or anything bad in the pan, fluid was clean also. No idea where the fluid went. The underside of the truck is bone dry but as of right now, a new tranny is not needed

If it was burning of you would smell it on the dipstick. Sorry that I don't have a good answer for you. I remember a post not too long ago where a guy who sounded like he knew a little bit about it said that there is a gasket or seal at the tail end of the trans that can go bad and allow trns fluid to leak into the transfer case. Might be worth checking you T-case fluid to see if you see any evidence of trans fluid there. Good luck with it.

hey guys im in the market for a new SSS im kicking myself in the ass for getting rid of mine and when i was about to go buy it back they sold it out from under me after scheduling plans with them to buy it. must be AWD would really like another silver one but will consider anything, whats in your area?? thanks guys
