  1. BAD FREAKING BREAKS ISSUES... My 2004 SS has been into the shop at least 5 times for break issues. Got the truck, as part of the deal they were replacing breaks since they were squealing sooooob bad. new pads, still made noise, NEW pads again with new rotors. STILL made noise. new pads again and still bad. Dealer gave up and sent me to my shop. 2 sets of pads more and they still squeal.. why?? no one can figure it out. 3 different mechanics, and 2 different shops. what is wrong. new pads, new rotors, new shims, anti squeal goo.. still have issues..

    anyone know why???

  2. i was going to get it done like that but my exhaust guy talked me out of it he said that the hot exhaust could heat up the breaks in the winter enough to make condensation which in turn would cause the brakes to freeze. so i donno if he was bull shittin , but just a heads up.

LOL.. sounds like BS to me. you can get these from many different exhaust companies. I am sure this isn't an issue. Sounds like he just didn't wana do the work. .

  3. Thanks for the comments guys. I love the look and the sound is SWEEEEET. Once i get my digital cam back I'll take a vid clip. My fiancee has it right now. wedding dress shopping.. LOL.. anyway, I have had a few PM's on the setup and tips. It is a dual in dual out flowmaster. they custom made the pipes from the stock cats to the muffler, then out to the tips. The tips are chrome 4" i think. I can measure them later. They were a bit far apart before, but when they had to pull everything back apart and redo everything I told them i wanted them closer. This morning when i picked the truck up they put them CLOSE and are touching and of course that caused a rattle. So i took a very small chunk of THICK clear vinyl scrap I had from headlight protection kits I sell and put in there. and BOOM, no rattle. Here are a few more pics after a car wash. I need a drop and rims now!!

  4. Well.. after of weeks and weeks of looking online for ideas, checking out youtube clips, and reading forums i got mine done. Took it to a muffler shop that was willing to make custom pipes. Told them I want a dual in dual out setup dumping the exhaust in front of the pass side rear tire. Got there at 1:00 and they sould i would be done at 3.. at 5:00 i finally got out. they talked me into these large glass packs.. NO NO NO.. never get these.. sounded like A$$.. so this morning I took it back and had a lil one to one with the mamager, they then installed a dual in dual out flowmaster. MUCH BETTER!! 40 series sounds good. here are pics. I will get sound clips when i can..

  5. Time for exhaust. Whoever had the truck before me installed dual tips that exit out the rear. I HATE EM. look like crap on this truck. I think it is the tips, they are small and stick out too far.

So it's time for upgrades. I like the Flowmaster and MagnaFlow sounds. Not sure if i should go with the super 44 or 50 series if i get the flowmaster. BUT, looking for pics of your tips. I really want dual both sides infront of the rear tires. But i can't do that. how bout some pics of those duals out the pass side?? pics and sound clips would be great!!...

    post em up guys..

    thanks !

  6. You guys that love this look will wana see what i am planning. Since i own a vinyl shop and have done many wraps, I am going to wrap the SS with flat black vinyl. most likely bottom 1/2 flat and top metallic red. or all flat, not sure. some of the large installers are wrapping very exotic cars. If you do a search you will see all sorts of cars being wrapped in flat. So when i do this i will make a post and show pics.. It will look like paint, be 1/3 the cost, and will be removable. sweet right?

here is a page with TONS of wrapped cars. http://flatblackcars.com/?s=wrap

  7. This is pretty frustrating.. Been all over the web for days and there is virtually no information on this fix. I can't get part numbers for the replacement bulbs, tho i did find some on eBay. But can't double check to see if those are the right ones. The eBay sellers will NOT give you instructions on the fix, since they charge a out of your mind price of $190+ to do the fix they wont help. There are no sites, no forums with the help, and just no information at all. When i crack the dash open and figure this out, i am going to post topics on ALL the forums i belong to with a how too and part numbers. This is crazy!

  8. I have 2 Magnaflow tips that came with my Magnaflow catback that I didn't use that I'd sell for cheap. I know I need to post this up in the forsale section, but since it was mentioned that the GMPP system doesn't come with tips, I thought I'd mention it here as well.

CHEAP??? pm me.. i may take em. send pics

  9. The kit should be dual 2.5" inlet and a single 3" outlet.....I have the correct part numbers at home and can post them tonight. The Magnaflow muffler I have is part #12388........and can post sound clips of the GMPP and Magnaflow tonight if you wish......
