Original post edited to include X-pipe install. Glad to help.
-
So, I just got my truck back last Friday from Futral Motorsports in Walker LA. I had my Pacesetter LT headers installed, X-pipe installed, cats removed, underdrive pullies installed and got a dyno tune.
I had them run it on the dyno 3 times. First pull was before they worked on it. All I had on it was a K&N Intake and 2X Flowmaster Super 40s 3" in, 3" out, with an H-pipe. First pull was 298 rwhp 317 ftlbs torque. Second pull was after the header install, X-pipe install, cat removal, and underdrive pulley install. Second pull was 311 rwhp 329 ftlbs torque. Third pull was after the dyno tune. Third pull was 347 rwhp 374 ftlbs torque.
I know there as always a lot of discussion about how much HP different mods will get you and I was curious for myself. So I hope this clears up some of the confusion and helps some folks out.
Cheers

http://www.truckinwe.../photo_101.html That's how! And the cleanest SS I've ever seen. If I didn't have an SS I would have a roll pan
That is pretty cool looking. And I will admit, as far as bumpers go, the SSS has got one of the best looking bumpers on any truck. I just prefer the look of not having a bumper. To me one of the criteria of having a "clean" truck means not having a bunch of stuff sticking out/off of your truck. Nothing against all you bumper lovers, I just think the roll pan is a much cleaner look. Plus the roll pan makes it look less stock. JMHO.

Ohh that looks so badass I can not wait to get mine on.. out of everything I have done to mine my roll is the best thing I have bought and its not even on. Haha

Thanks. Yeah it took me like 8 months to get mine on. You should look into a license plate bracket too.I got this one http://www.posiesrodsandcustoms.com/super_slide_springs/featured_products/lighted-license-plate-frames/

Damn Chris that looks really nice. Hope she fits in the garage now. Let me know how the tune and goodies helped out the performance
Thanks man. I hope so too. I'm gonna post my dyno slips either some time this week or next week. Probably in the bolt on performance section.

Looks great. I might get the last one he makes. I hope to have him sign it.
I guess I didn't do that right before. I meant to say...
I would if I were you.
That would be cool.

Looks badass! Btw is that a 3/4-5? 22's and tires fill it nicely
Thanks. I have 4" hanger/shackle kit on back and 2" drop spindles plus drop keys in the front. 22" reps wrapped in 285/45 Goodyear Forteras.

looks good!
what yellow key tag is that?
Thanks. It's just the tag from my uncle's body shop. Allen's Body Shop in Sorrento LA. They put one on the keys of every vehicle they work on.

Thanks guys.

I don't believe in a million years that this is the new SSS. Sure GM probably has something up their sleeve, and they may have plans for a new SSS, but this can't be it. The mirrors may be temporary, but the ride height, and the wheels are what give me my doubts. Sure the wheels are big, but they aren't sporty at all. And the ride height, there is nothing sporty or special about that. Just my opinion.

Thanks. I ended up going with the Dupli-Color Perfect Match spray paint. I really wanted the calipers to match the truck so I chose not to go with a VHT or other high temp product. It has held up well so far. I figure if it flakes or comes off then it will probably be time for a brake upgrade anyway.

It does sound like a lot of money. Its pretty convenient though to get everything in one shot, and on top of that, its already painted. Sometimes its worth paying for convenience IMHO. Good luck with the build.

Nice clone man. Seriously one of the better ones I've seen. You gonna get an SS badge for the tailgate?

Yup the hood is wrong and the grille insert is wrong as well. But what is so interesting about it?
For those interested, I did the Car Fax finally and found out that it was involved in two accidents. One side swipe and one front end. I dont know the severity of the front end accident but it must have been a hard one to damage the hood as well. The title is salvaged so I know it wasnt too bad.
So there you have it. For all the people questioning and doubting my new truck, mystery solved. The female who drove this truck before really didn't care for it. And I have some guys ordering me a new hood and grille insert as we speak. I'll post some more detailed pic's of the truck soon
First off, I'm not "doubting your new truck". You said yourself that you ran the VIN and it came back "Classic 07 SS". I believe you. I, (as well as everyone else, or maybe just me) do find it interesting that someone would fix their SS with parts that would make it not look like an SS. Most people put SS parts on a non SS (clone), not the other way around.
Anyway, you got an awesome truck. Good luck with it. Keep the pics coming.

Maybe its just the picture but the hood doesnt look like the 06/07 classic hood, hmmm, definitely check that carfax and let us know what u find. Wellcome to the site and welcome to the family!
Thats a good catch. I didn't even notice the hood until you pointed it out. I'm even more interested to see what's up now.
