  1. Years and Years ago I nailed my buddy to the sub-floor when he was taking a nap at lunch. It only took a couple in the sweet shirt and one or two in each pant leg. It has funny as hell until we say the owner come driving up you talk about catspaws flying to pull the nails to set that idiot free. The owner caught us we had to tell him. He laughed his @$$ off.

  2. u guys suck... u need to be calling out every SSS and TBSS and anything nice wether ur with someone or not...

    Heres the how to:

    1. Open all the windows

    2. Point at the sweet ride or even the really ugly one is fun sometimes

    3. Yell as loud as u can, bounce n your seat, all while ur pointing

    4. Watch the looks on peoples faces as ur yelling and pointing

    5. PRICELESS

I use to do that AAAAALLLLLLLL the time but the neurologist said I have to stop or get a divider up between me and the wife. She would always takes off her shoe and conducts a sole inspection on my head screaming "quit acting like an F'en idiot!" We would make a scene that would make Jerry Springer blush. I fixed her now, I wear a HELMET. LMAO!!!! :jester:

The kids and I call out every SSS all the time. However, there really are not that many running around. It was funny when they were younger. The little one called just about everything a SS. Nevertheless, when the kids are not with the wife and I, it's called SSsnap. She gets a bra snap at any SS we pass. Man does she get pissed when I drive back and forth in front of a Chevy Dealership. Fun and Games that's what its all about. Fun and Games!

  3. 40 years young here, my kids and my toys keep me going. However, I can't quite do the things I use to do, the body takes to long too heal-up :smash: , LOL! The wife is always telling my to grow up "Your not twenty anymore and your are a bad influence on our kids!!" :idiot: I say WHY!!! Life is too short get out and have fun, _ _ _ _ something up!! The doctors always put humpty dumpty back together again.

  4. 5) If you want to get a LIDAR shifter then ok, but they are expensive and the only place I see LIDAR being used is on city streets (where I usually don't go fast enough to get ticketed) or on urban freeways/frontage roads patroled by city cops, so a LIDAR shifter IMO is a very limited use appliance to spend $1000+ on a countermeasure for it.

    My 2-cents.

    Mr. P. :)

Out here in California, I have seen California Highway Patrol use LIDAR on the Highways and Freeways. Most of the time it will be out of the heavily populated areas and it will be three or four of them hidden and one playing "terminator" on the shoulder with his LIDAR. :nonod:

  5. I do not want to steal all of Luke's thunder here, so I will make this quick....The plastic trays are supposed to hold the lifters, but apparently they can still come loose and fall into the oil pan when the cam is out. The dowel rods are part of the LS1Tech How To, they slide into the cam plate bolt holes and keep the lifters from falling down. When we did the springs, each cylinder was filled with air, Luke has an air compressor adapter that threads into the spark plug hole.....if you look carefully at the pictures, you will see it......

Great, thanks for the info! This forum is awesome you learn more from this then some nut job manual! The other think I noticed is that the AC condenser did not have to be removed right. Just removing the radiator was enough for the cam to side out?

  6. Looks like you guy's had a great time.

Sure did, the two lower holes behind the cam plate that are pictured in the alluminum block of the LS1Tech How To, are just two nubs on the iron block in Luke's truck. We had the dowels to hold the lifters up, but no hole to put the through.......we wound up rotating the cam to get the lifters in their keepers, and quickly removed one cam and installed the other.......sweating bullets of course.......

When you swapped out the cam what did you mean by "dowels to hold the lifters" with the plastic trays that the lifters sit in, do they not keep them from dropping down? :dunno: Was this a tip that you found in a reference "LS1 Tech How To"?

When you guy's swapped out the springs, did you do the old pull the spark plug out and fill the cylinder with rope and rotate the crank to hold the valves in-place?
