  1. So I drop the tranny in my '04 VHO which is actually a 4l60e out of a '00 Sierra(another story)......well I dropped it to rebuild because third wasn't holding anymore and I wanted to fix it before catastrophic failure. No issues, build went smooth with the exception my band is a little loser that I would like it. So I go for a test drive and the converter locks up right away....after experimenting I figured out it pretty much locks up in any gear including reverse with about 20-30% regardless of speed. However it does unlock when you start braking to come to a stop, it's not stalling the motor. I did change a few things this time around including a sonnax smart shell, pump slide spring, and a sonnax intermediate servo release bullshitter(trying to improve the 2-3 shift), but nothing is clicking in my head to cause this other than possible pcm on the fritz. Also my dang a/c blend doors are jacked up....will only blow out defrost...WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!....I got home and pulled the battery hoping something was just whacked out...I'll try again in the morning....in the meantime input is very much appreciated.
  2. I have four like new 305/40 22 Toyo Proxes ST II's that I had to buy to get back to Houston. They didn't have the 284/40's that I wanted soooooo....they have about 600 miles on them(the journey home) and are currently mounted on my Foose Lusso's. I will have them dismounted as soon as they are sold. Asking $750...I just want to get these sold so I can buy the right size.
  3. SCORE!!!...lol He sent me an email about the same time I posted my last post. Looks like I'll be ridin dirty till Wednesday, and then there will be some videos. I'll post up the drivability through tire smoke tune video.
  4. Wheatley would be great, but I can't seem to ever establish a line of communication with him. I've tried multiple emails, pm's, and voice mails. Maybe he's had something come up over the past week that demands all of his attention(family emerg.) I dunno. Maybe I scared him off with the LS3 TB. lol He told me last week he would be available tomorrow(Tuesday) but no response since last wednesday and I can't get an answer as to when, or even where to meet. In the mean time I can barely keeps this heap from running into another lane when it dies in the middle of a left hand turn. LOL Hopefully I'll hear something tomorrow.
  5. Has anybody ever heard of or used Chuck Anders in the Houston area? This is part of his ad. "I specialize in driveability on heavily modded all motor to blown heads cam 455 cubic inch motors and beyond. Hold records for Fastest LT1 in the world (8.08 @ 176 mph), Fastest stock shortblock LS1 (9.64 @ 145 mph), and first LS7 over 700 rwhp. I tune for reliability and maximum WOT performance. Give me a call or shoot me an email for more details." I've got to get this pig tuned!
  6. Texas Speed 233/239 Here is a list of their cams....their web site sucks ass and you can't navigate to anything so you can browse. I don't know why it says that cam has a smooth idle...it's on the standard 113 for that cam. It has 2 degrees adv. ground in as well.
  7. No Stroker....it's actually stock w/ a cam and tbss intake + ls3 throttle body. The tires are actually kind of growing on me and I was just afraid I'm getting used to it...but, they're brand new...less than a week old, so if I'm going to sell them and get my money semi-back out of them I need to yank them off. I ordered some billet adapters today so I can put my stock TBSS wheels on it. They'll actually be the same height and width as the 285/40's I wanted...so we'll see...I'll post some pics when they show up next week. I actually already tried to put the 305/40's up for sale, but I don't have enough post to list them....lol....doh!
  8. took a quick vid of the VHO...I put my wheels from my Sierra on it with diff. tires. I need opinions. They're 305/40/22 and I think they just look to big with a 2/4 drop....maybe it's just coming from 265/35's on the sierra with a 5/6 drop....but don't ya'll think a 285/40 would look better? Oh and yeah it needs some tuning help...that's in progress. I tried to embed it but it didn't work....sorry...never posted a video before.
  9. I haven't checked any grounds mainly because this was all a byproduct of the intake swap with the ls3 tb. It has been checked for vacumm leaks and none were found. It hasn't thrown any codes until recently after I tried with help to fix the tune. Now it will occasionally throw a map ckt code but I figured that was a recent effect of the latest tuning. I appreciate all the help. The main thing that has thrown me for a loop is the ls3 throttle body...does it not have an iac?...if it does I can't seem to affect it with the tune...if it doesn't how are the ls3 vettes controlling idle?.....with the airflow table and timing? When you fire this thing up cold in the morning it starts and idles great when it's in open loop, but once it gets warmed up it doesn't always like to idle and it likes to hang at 1600rpm which I think is from the increase of air flow it was given to try and accomplish an idle. Anyways, I've been trying to get ahold of Wheatley to get him to tune it. Since I'm fairly new to the site, I didn't realize who he was, what he did, or the fact that we probably live 20 min. apart. I will say, I've never had this kind of trouble with a wideband dfi setup like fast....the amount of tables and parameters that gm has setup in these things is nutz!
  10. using hpt and yes the pink wires are cut.
  11. Yes it has an x-link No I did not realize there was a spot to change tb size in tune. What tab or tabs is it under?
  12. 04 VHO with TSP cam was tuned and running decent via TSP dyno tune....swapped intake to tbss and a new ls3 tb....truck constantly dies and has a hard time trying to idle or if it actual catches it will surge and hunt. 1 day of newb(to this style setup) tuning= no gain....except auto pilot...increased air flow to copmensate for idle and the truck wants to stay at 1600rpm till you come to a complete stop. I've been trying to research this setup with no luck...I think, if I understand correctly that the ls3 tb has no iac and if it does it just stays at 310 and could not be effected when playing with tune. If it doesn't have an iac in the tb, what is the most effective way to a clean idle with this tb and a mildish/biggish cam? It seems the pcm was trying to control idle with variable timing, but not very effectively. The worst part was after several tunes, the same results could never be duplicated. The same tune could be loaded back in where the truck ran decent but then on a second test drive with tune it would act different. Was my truck built on indian burial ground? I read some of the tips in the sticky and most of it sounds like good info, especially on the big cams section, but I just wanted to clarify issues with this exact set up....tbss intake + ls3 tb + bumpstick
