  1. That would be really bad ass...however, I dont know if I would make it in under my 9500 spending limit. Mike
  2. Hey guys. I am thinking about putting my 04 GTO up for sale and using the money to completely make-over my SS. The truck has 100,000 miles on it and I would like to freshen everything up. I would like the truck to get a RPM or similar transmission, a rebuild with maybe a heads and cam package with all the supporting mods, and freshen up the AWD system with new parts. Depending on how much I have left, I may rebuild the suspension with new aftermarket parts and put a brake kit on the truck. I want the truck to be very reliable and drive like a stock truck. However, the GTO is a low 12 second car and I always seem to find my way back to a fast car if I sell one. I would like the truck to fill that void as well. How much power would I have to make to get the truck into the 12's. a 12.99 is still a 12 and IMO very respectable for a truck. I may be shooting a little high here with the stock driving characteristics and the low 1/4 mile time but any help would be appreciated. Thanks for the help guys. If I do this, I will have around 9500-10500 to spend. Mike
  3. BUMP..This is OBO guys..gotta get them out of here
  4. The title says 06....they are definitely off of a 05...Sorry... I suck at typing Hey guys and gals. I sold my Silverado and have these taking up space. The tires on them in the picture are junk and will most likely be removed to save on shipping fees. This is a set of 4 with all 4 center caps. More pictures can be taken but you know what they look like. They make a great winter wheel or are even decent looking cleaned up with a nice set of tires. Good upgrade for those of you running steelies. $200 dollars + shipping takes them. A money order works best for me as I do not have a paypal. I am located in Lebanon, IN just north of Indianapolis. I welcome a face to face meeting to avoid shipping as well. They are epicly dirty but in great condition My email is [email protected] (i know its gay but give me a break..I made it when I was 12) It will be easier to get me through that then on here. Thanks
  5. The power steering pump was ordered and installed by the dealer. It whines like like a blower. They did have a problem and ordered the wrong one the first time..they reordered the same day and had it within an hour. Maybe they realized their error and went to auto zone to get one quickly.
  6. Hey guys. I bought a well used 2003 Sss. It has its list of things wrong with it at 99,000 miles. Most of which I was able to identify within the first few miles of the test drive. After test driving the truck and identifying all these things, I told them that the were a couple things going on that I would like replaced, and a couple more that I would like an accurate idea of what the problems were before I bought it. Everyone agreed and they put new brakes on the truck as well as a new power steering pump. I picked the truck up before they could check the other small things I wanted checked. We came to the decision that I would take the truck and schedual a time for a diagnostic. The truck is going in next week for that diagnostic. What I am looking for is a little insight to what the problems are so I have an idea of what they can look for when I get it there. - When in gear, if i push the gas maybe 20% or less I get a vibrating metalic sound from the rear of the truck. It sounds as if there is a loose exhaust shield vibrating. Something that is thin metal. I dont think it is a big problem but I havent had time to slide up under there. Is there a common problem with these trucks in this aspect? - While driving the door chime would randomly chime 2-3 times and the BRAKE light would come on and go back off. One time, as I was stopping, the ABS light came on and the ABS pulsed at my foot. Keep in mind this was on completely dry pavement at 5-6 mph. What could this be? - The power steering pump, which they replaced before I picked the truck up, is louder then a supercharger on a cobra mustang. Im assuming that these trucks dont have inherently loud PS pumps. Is this one bad? - When the windshield wipers are turned on, they go up with no problem but pause for a split second on the way down. Is there a tooth missing in the motor? Those are the problems. Any help is appricieated. Here are some pictures!
  7. wow those setups look great! Anyone have pictures of where the wire is ran into the cab and where the switch is located. I am just trying to get an idea of what I want to do.
  8. Hey guys. I bought a QTP E-cutout and a 3in cutout for 100 bucks. I am installing this thing asap. If you could post some pics of where your cutout is installed and where you ran your wire into the cab that would help me alot. Also where did you guys install your switch. Pics speak 1000 words! Mike
  9. Thanks Guys. What is Mr P's full user name so I can message him. I will look through a couple of posts to see if I can find it first. Thanks for the good write up on taking the mirror off! Mike
  10. Hey guys. I just acquired a 2003 SSS. The truck is mint other then the driver mirror looks like it took a rock at highway speeds. It has a hole smashed in the black frame piece that surrounds the body colored panel. How do I get the mirror off of the truck? Where can I find a decently priced replacement. A GM dealership would charge me 500 plus labor in replacing it, and that sounds ludicrous to me. Thanks! Mike
  11. cool I am definitely going to check out that chrome black out paint. That chrome piece and the one across the grill really had me stumped. I may do the gray plastic in black and black out the chrome. Sherwin Williams will put your factory paint into spray cans for like 10 bucks a can. I have used it before and it did a very good job of matching a 12 year old car.
  12. Wow..on your truck that actually sets it off. I guess having a black truck, the greyish black plastic parts of the bumper just look a little off..ya know? Maybe I will pick up some factory black paint from sherwin williams in a spray can and give it a try. Should i go at it with sandpaper and a sanding block first to knock down the rough plastic or just prime and paint. Oh and how easy is it to pull bothe the upper and lower plastic parts off? Thanks Mike
  13. Maybe the stock bumper looks ok if it is painted ( I dont know because i havent seen any like that..im a noob here) maybe I should look into doing that. Anyone have any pictures of the stock bumper painted to match (not to get to off topic here.)
  14. do a complete SS front bumper swap for 250 or less. I am currently trying to spruce up my 05 RCSB and have decided that the front bumper is ugly and the SS bumper looks great. I have 250 dollars that is eating a hole in my pocket and I want to do this swap. What all is needed to complete the swap. Is it just a cover that goes over existing parts that would already be on my truck? Or will I have to swap more then that? thanks for the help Mike
  15. Looking for a SS front bumper and rear bumper. The color doesnt matter, as well as the condition (as long as it isnt smashed to pieces.) Also interested in buying an SS tailgate spoiler. I am located in central Indiana. thanks Mike
