Just moved to Colorado Springs and was wondering what they use for de-icing the roads. I'm originally from Nebraska where they salted the shit out of the roads and spent the last three years in Kansas where they didn't really do much of anything about snow removal. Just not a big fan of road salt and was wondering if I should be getting the beater ready.

Mine just took a dump on me too. I don't really have anybody I trust around here though, so I didn't get off that cheap. Ordered a reman from Jasper for a little under 2 grand

Well not sure what was specifically wrong with it, but the front diff was shot to hell. I ordered a new (rebuilt) one from Jasper with the promise that they fixed GM's screw up. They delivered it Thurs morning about 830 and I had it in by 11ish. It was a little pricey (almost 2G's) but has a 3year/100K warranty.

Not a big fan of any of the chops. I think it looks cool the way it is, but I understand your disdain for chrome, as I'm not a shiny fan myself. If it were mine, I'd just color-match all of the chrome. Either way, that truck kicks major ass

Thanks brother. That exhaust is long gone though. It was just a el cheapo muff house hack job into the stock muffler. It now has a GMPP cat-back on it that looks much better in my opinion. Just wasn't a fan of the setup on it.

So does anybody have any opinions on what to do. I can do engines all day but diff's and tranny's scare the hell out of me. Rebuild? Replace? Is there any troubleshooting that I can do? Any help is appreciated.

Yeah, there was a bunch of filings on the plug when I first changed it, then again 1000 miles later when I changed it again.

I have a nasty front end howling noise that seems to be getting worse. It is your typical on-throttle/off throttle whine. I recently changed to Royal Purple in the front diff. Not sure f that would be a cause or not. It should be noted that the pass. side output on the diff is leaking a bit, but not much. Diff is FULL. Truck only has a tad under 20K on it. Is there any way to check the wheel bearings to see if they are the problem? I've been telling myself it was normal, but last night the wife even said 'Jesus, WTF is that sound?'
