  1. Folks, can anyone recommend a 100MM Mass Air for my LQ9 408? I have a FAST LSXR 102 with LS7 throttle body and will be upgrading to 4" intake tubing and need a larger Mass Air than stock. Thanks
  2. Here's a couple of Videos I took. Breaking it in before we dyno it and take it to the track. Will need QuickTime to run: Video 1(12MB) Video 2 (80+MB)
  3. Truck is running. Going to put 200 miles on it slowly for next couple of days and dyno it this weekend. I'm excited...
  4. Update to Build - Engine fired up with no problems and sounds FANTASTIC. Going to the Dyno tomorrow. Will post results as soon as I get them...
  5. Hey guys, does anyone know where I can pickup a water pump that will work with my LQ9 408 stroker in a TBSS? Basically the LS7 throttle body gets in the way. We already have an adjustment bracket for the idler pully, just trying to find a water pump that will work. I tried meziere and Street and Performance and no luck. They recommend fabrications and possible spacers... We tried a GTO water pump as well.
  6. New 408 is going in now and can be viewed here Here some PICs of the carnage on the stock LS2 with 380+ at the wheels with H/C and all bolt-ons. Piston is missing a chunk of metal on the top of it... Pic - 1 Pic - 2 Pic - 3 Pic - 4
  7. This LQ9 block was working just fine in a truck that we used and was sent off to get cleaned and they added 4.030-inch bore and 4.00-inch stroke. I really wanted a LSX block, but thought it was overkill and would cost $2000 alone. Also, I don't mind the 150lb weight penalty with the peace of mind of good old fashion GM IRON. I wanted a block that can handle spray and learned from you guys on this forum. It seems like more and more people are going to LQ9 strokers with heavy vehicles. I had to make the BIG decision of a NA motor (11.5.1) with 450-500 at the wheels with the the ability to spray 150 to 300 more or a FI motor (9.5.1 or low compression) and spend atleast 6-9K or more on a TVS2300 and other parts. I decided to go NA with a goal of high 11's or low 12's. I enjoyed a LS3 418 in a TBSS before, however the crank walked - even after being pinned. Ever since then, aluminum scars me in a heavy truck. However, that should NOT discount the LS aluminum blocks - they are amazing. We've seen 370, 402, 403, 416, 418, 427, 440, 454, etc... aluminum blocks holding tons of power with no problems. I just had some bad luck.
  8. I believe they even decked it. I'll ask Thanks
