  1. Thanks for the recommendations I replaced the transfer case fluid and did the figure 8's and its made a big improvement One more questions though: While crawling around under the truck I noticed the out put shafts at the case have some play that the axle ends do not. I'm talking up and down/left and right not rotational and at the case not the u joints. Normal or should I have it checked out? Id hate to have an internal bearing issue lead to larger problems. Also FYI the chevy parts dept used my vin and told me GM recommends Manual Transmission and Transfer case fluid #88861800 in our awd trucks which I did. I hadnt noticed anyone else on the forum giving out this advice so I thought Id throw it out to the group to chew on. Thanks again for a great forum!
  2. Hey all. Hope you can help with my memory loss. Im the original owner of an 03 SS with 95k miles and just had the inner tie rods and pitman arm replaced and the truck aligned to the tune of $900. Driving feels go cart sharp - Over time I guess I got used to the play in the worn parts and didnt notice how bad it had become. Heres the only problem - when parking and turning hard near lock it feels like driving a 4wd with a locker - pulling the wheel, making noise and visible tire scrub on my concrete driveway. The shop checked the install and alignment and concluded that its an awd and just the way it is with tight new parts but I dont remember it feeling that way new. Anyone else have their awd behave like this? Thanks Wally
  3. Hey all - long time lurker / 1st time poster Guess I havent posted because Ive never modded my truck and it doenst break. Just wondering how many miles people have gotten from their original brake pads Ive got 90K miles and the rears need to be changed but the front still have almost a 1/4" left of material. Strange the rears would go first but I'm not complaining
