  7. Right. I'm calling the cops. LOL. I guess i didn't notice it when i was there. Being in the city street department here, we replace a lot of stolen signs. One we gave up on because it kept getting stolen was the sign for Stoner drive. We finally just put in a concrete pole.Truck looks great. Wish i coulda seen it when i was at your house.

  14. In 1972, I purchased a 1966 Triumph Spitfire. The sales price was heavily discounted simply because it needed a clutch. Since I had become proficient at parking lot burnouts - and replacing clutches - in my 1961 Chevrolet BelAir, I figured that I had made a super shrewd deal with the Spitfire. After purchasing a clutch disc, pressure plate, and throwout bearing, off to the garage I went. I put the Spitfire up on jackstands and slid underneath to remove the driveshaft, transmission, and bell housing. Hmmm. It seemed like there were a bunch of frame members in the way. I unbolted every bolt I could find and removed everything I could, but there was no way that I could get to all the transmission and driveshaft bolts, much less find enough room to wriggle the transmission and bell housing out. Now what? Off I went to purchase a shop manual. Boy, was I surprised when I read the section on clutch replacement that began with, "remove the driver and passenger seat cushions, remove the carpet, and remove the transmission tunnel." Holy smokes! The transmission is removed from INSIDE the car. My gearhead buddies all had a good laugh, and from that day forward, I became a firm believer in the value of a shop manual.
  15. There is an 03 Suburban with the 496 in it for sale here.I was thinking a 496 would be cool in the SS.
  16. There is a sticker on the gas filler door. 91 octane. Don't run the 87 out. Fill it with 93 octane NOW. Then run a minimum of 91. A fuel additive doesn't hurt either. And welcome bro!
  17. Today I swung my front door open and placed my Remington 870 shotgun on the front porch. I gave it 6 shells, and noticing that it had no legs, I decided to place it in a wheelchair to help it get around. Then I left it alone and went about my business. While I was gone, the mailman delivered my mail, the boy across the street plowed my snow, a girl walked her dog down the street, And quite a few cars stopped at the stop sign in front of my house. After about 2 hours, I checked on the gun. And it was still sitting there in the wheelchair, right where I left it. It had not killed anyone even in spite of the many opportunities that had been presented to it, and strangely enough, it had not even loaded itself. Well you can imagine how surprised I was with all the media hype about how dangerous guns are and how they kill people. So either the media is wrong, and it is the misuse of guns by people or I'm in possession of the laziest Gun in the world. So now I'm off to check on my forks & spoons, because I hear they make people fat.
