  1. I would like to change out the rubber lines to braided sst lines. Anyone know the best route as far as manufacturer & Part Numbers? Thanks, Bud
  2. What's the normal pedal feel for a SS w/ 4-wheel disk brakes. Just got this '04 SS home yesterday, but one thing I've noticed is under hard braking for say a ,quick red light, the pedal felt very firm but before the truck came to a stop, the pedal traveled pretty far toward to floor and never really hit a hard/solid spot. I have owned GM trucks with drums on the rear & disks on front you get a solid hard pedal feel. My question is: Are these characteristics common to disks? OR maybe this truck needs brake work? Bud
  3. Thanks ! I passed up a Red '04 w/low miles & a couple of Silver ones. I really wanter the Arrival blue 1st or black 2nd. The blue is beautiful in the sunlight. Take Care Bud
  4. Just my 2nd post, but wanted to share a couple of photos of my newly aquired 2004 SS AWD. I just brought it home yesterday evening. Other than the bed cover, it's completely stock. I spent several hours today crawling under it and giving it a thorough once over. Found a few minor things I did not see before I bought it but i'm still happy. Started detailing & put a coat of wax on it. We're not there yet but it will be a clean truck when i'm done. As a new member, I really appreciate the welcome from several members & look forward to future posts and any how-to tuning tips or suggestions. SSBud04
  5. I just purchased a 2004 SS, Acceptance Blue - (1) Owner, All Stock, no accidents, (37k) Miles. I Joined SS.COM today as well **(SSBud04)**. I looked on-line for almost 6 months. Then suddenly while at a dealership 100 miles from my home town, I happened to ask if they ever get SS Silverados. The salesman punched it in their database and discovered a (1) owner trade-in just posted that same day, without even a photo, from Ohio. Knowing how rare the Blue ones are and the low miles, with supposedly no-accidents & non-smoker, I paid the dealer $250 on the spot to have it transfered sight un-seen from Ohio to Alabama. After waiting (2) weeks it arrived yesterday. I drove to B'ham, AL. early this morninng with a buddy of mine to see the truck for the first time. When the dealer pulled it up under the covered pavillion of the showroom, I fell in love! It is absolutely beatiful in every way. I love these trucks and now I finally have one all my own. I guess you could call it luck, destiny or what ever, all I know is that I am very happy to have found this truck! I'm an old gearhead (49 years old) but tonight I feel like a kid again. I enjoy this website and will post some photos soon to share with other readers. PS- It does need a new centercap (the emblem is damaged slightly). Any advice on center caps?
