  1. ok i duno where to start other than my truck was rear ended like a month and half ago and the body shop did terrible body and paint work. looks awful. but when i push brakes it turnes turn signals on to, signals in mirrors come on as well as in instrument cluster. and turn signals quit flashing when you step on the brakes, and the radio doesnt shut off when key is turned off and door is open. i need help.

  2. Hey all, im looking for some advice on a budget friendly amp for these speakers im about to get. any insight/opinions are much appreciated. Thanks

    Speakers:

    6-3/4''- Alpine SPX-17PRO

    4x6's - Alpine SPS-406

If anyone has suggestions on a different set of 4x6's, please dont hesitate!

i have had great luck with mtx thunder or mtx thunder elite. and also with alpine. just get a 4ch with 40 or more rms. dont worry about peak power it means nothing

  3. Took the truck in today and the guy there told me that there was nothing they could do. He said that all vehicles when parked would draw on the battery eventually causing it to drain especially since i have a system and an aftermarket alarm. I told him how long the battery was lasting and he said to buy a new battery and a battery tender or i could take out my alarm and stereo system. I still think it should last longer than five days, so i disconnected the alarm and i'ma do a draw test tommorow. I don't have any lights out or anything like that. I have a feeling its the alarm system, i have a crimestopper informer II. Also my gauges have been messing up, they will just go dead and then the next day they will work. Could that have anything to do with it?

make sure that your radio is dropping the 12 v remote turn on wire when turned off. if the amps are not shutting down this will drain power. put a volt meter on battery and shut vehicle off and let sit around 5 mins and voltage should sit steady anywhere from 11.8 to 12.4 and then if it slowly drains then start disconnecting stuff to see if you can get it to quit. could be bad alarm, or a stuck relay in fuse panels.

  4. the 991 could have had settings not set right. it has a built in autostart for temperature settings. if they had that on it will start if truck is to hot or to cold. and the domelight chirp can be shut off on the alarm settings and it will still work fine.

i didnt realize how old this was . whoops

  5. 1 of the plugs is the input you wont need. and the other is the output for speakers. should be

    LF tan - gray

RF light green - dark green

    LR brown - yellow

RR dark blue - light blue

the light colors are postive in front and the dark colors are positive in the rear. i hope this helps. shouldnt be hard for ya to fix.

  6. i would do a red top optima. they are great batteries. they used them on audio display boards to run amps radio and everything in circuit city stores. i have seen them last 11+ years and still working under alot of abuse. i have had 1 in my last truck for 5 years and was still working fine until truck was hit by lightning and it burnt it up along with other stuff in truck.

  7. i just put a new radio in truck and was going to use the amp integration harness but wanted to bypass the bose eventually but didnt wana alter the wiring a bunch. but i found a prewired amp bypass plug in dash. if you remove the radio and pull the airbag switch panel off to right of hvac controls. reach back behind the hvac controls. there is a plug there that is the radio plug for standard radio. if you unplug it you can use the standard wire harness's and bypass bose and run sound from headunit. you will lose the sub but all door spkr's and tweeters still are ok. it beats tearin console open and bypassing there or running new wires to each speaker. hope this helps someone out!! if you have ?'s pm me and i will try to help

  8. sounds like the rca ground filter in the deck is bad. take a piece of wire and wrap around the outer shield of the rca's and then ground it and see if the sound goes away. if so, the deck needs serviced or u can leave the ground on rca and will work fine. also do you have the bose system? did they use the correct interface to work with factory amp?

  9. ok i have read several posts about efans. i have a 03 ss i just bought. i will try to get pics up soon. i wana know easiest conversion for efans and what kind to buy. should i get a boneyard set or new? factory or aftermarket? i am gona put the volant intake and scoop on sometime soon and wana do efans and a tune at same time. then exhaust in future as well. please steer me what i need. any harness's parts belts whatever i may need. thanks for all help. i am new to this forum but have had a silverado for many years but not a ss
