  1. Great info here, Thank you, I will definitely be going with a Gatorback belt..
  2. Thank you for your reply, glad to hear its nothing more
  3. I am experiencing what sounds like my belt squealing-chirping when I accelerate hard; the sound comes right after it shifts - typically first to second. My truck has not always made this noise maybe for the last 20k miles; I have put on a new belt since first hearing the noise and am still experiencing the noise, so I am not sure it is the belt. It just sounds like a belt noise and seems as though it comes from the engine. A typical driving scenario: Could be a from a stop or rolling start; 3/4 to full throttle, truck shifts hard, belt sound/chirping noise. I notice it more if I let off right at or before it shifts. Hoping this has happened to someone else as they would know what I am talking about; if not this is about the best detail I can provide. Thank you in advance for your help
  4. Hello, I am looking for a break upgrade to my father's 04 avalanche. Mainly looking for breaded cables. it is an 04, has headers and exhaust and tune. He has been out of town for the past month and will be for the next couple months. The biggest difference between his truck and my vmax is the breaking. I plan on revamping his breaking before he gets back for Christmas. I think the best budget friendly way is breaded cables, does anyone have a part number they suggest?
  5. Well, the rain just about killed the event, one car club brought out some bmw's and an aston martin, a cool '56 chevy, and a 66 mustang gt350 clone. Here is a link to check out some of the photos. They are planning another one in the fall, Hopefully I will see you there. rolex & rides

Come and Enjoy a Great Day of Exotic Cars, Hot Rods, & Rolex's! If you have Gold you want to Sell, Bring that too! Bar-B-Q, Shrimp, Oysters, Beer, Wine, Sodas & Water Enjoy a great day with your friends and meet new ones! Houston Gold Exchange 12586 Westheimer Rd (Corner of Westheimer & Dairy Ashford) Houston, Texas 77077 281-531-0700 www.houstongoldexchange.com We are about 2.5 miles west of the Tollway on Westheimer. Look for the bright digital sign to your right before the Exxon 'On the Run' station. Best to come down Westheimer as the road has been resurfaced and smooth. For those with low ground clearance I would NOT come down Dairy Ashford from I-10. Either come down Eldridge or Highway 6 and back track East. If coming from the Southside, take the WestPark Toll Road, take a right when it ends and you'll be a couple of lights from the store.
  7. Hello all, I'm sorry if this is not the right place to post as it does not have to do with an ss, but it is suspension. My dad replaced his sway bars with new eibach sway bars on his 04 avalanche z66. I noticed the size of the sway bar is a few mm larger than the sway bar on my truck. I only assume it will fit my 06, but I am curious if anyone knows if this will be an upgrade to what I have now. Thank you in advance.
  8. Hello all, I am curious if anyone else has done a two inch shackle drop with the manual select ride option. I am not sure if this option will interfier with a two inch drop. It is not extreme so I don't think it would be a problem, but I am curious if anyone has any advice to give, Thank you in advance
  9. We will all be able to save parking spaces so we can all park together, there are also some dealers bringing out some cars to display it's going to be a very fun time! The weekend is coming soon so let me know to reserve you a space.
  10. Hello all, I am a new member and would like you to join me at this event. There are other exotics/clubs going; This will be a good event to represent the ss's in Houston, Please pm me if you will be able to come so I can have a head count. P.S. This is a mixed event with watch enthusiasts and automobile fanatics, you don't have to be both to attend, just one or the other!
  11. Hello, I am looking to upgrade my front brakes to perfrom better while towing(main purpose) and driving in general. I do not want to go to a larger rotor, I was thinking of ebc rotors with yellowstuff pads(for now I am not concerned with the brake dust) and braided cables. I did not find too many topics related to ebc brakes; sorry if this has been covered already. My questions 1) Do you know what size rotor I have on my truck(06 1500 vmax; front disc/rear drum) On summitracing they have a thirteen and a twelve inch rotor, I am not sure what mine is without taking off my wheel. 2) Can you recomend any other set up that will provide great stopping power while towing (on a budget) Thank you
