  1. you are over an hour away from our area.........i mean if you want to drive here that would be awesome anyway.
  2. The truck has a "performance" tune for everything stock. I do not know what the shift points are the truck hasnt been dynoed either so I wouldn't know what to set them at.

    Tow/Haul Mode

I haven't found any threads about this, and I just want to make sure I'm not crazy. Bone stock truck I took to the track, ran consistent 15.2-15.3 while I was playing with different launch techniques. My last run for the hell of it I switched on tow/haul mode, and ran a 14.9! How in the hell is this possible? I did the same launch techniques as before. Does this mode really drop almost 4 tenths of a second in the quarter? I drive on the street every once in a while with this mode on I notice it keeps the truck in a lower gear longer to allow better acceleration, especially on the highway I understand it's better for towing heavy loads but could it really affect racing times?
  4. Not too many mods right now, But plenty of plans for the future, definitely boost of some kind. Probably no nitrous though. Heres what i plan so far: -Efans -heads -cam -headers to my cutouts -turbo or blower still undecided Its going to be my daily driven vehicle, weekend warrior, but I dont mind it being a little rough on the street. So i may not build a full motor for it but I'd like to have it into the mid-low 13s.
  5. I need some info on these trucks transmissions. I need to know the model of trans and transfer case. Also what is involved in swapping to a 4L80E or 4L85E? Will it bolt right up to the stock t-case or would i need a different transfer case? Basically I want to swap to the beefy transmission.
  6. Did you have the wheel turned a little at all? The viscous clutch in the t-case slips power to the front wheels when steering to allow for easier turns at low speeds. this in turn will give you more power to the rear wheels and may get some tire spin.
  7. Thats pretty cool. i was thinking about joining their club. I dont know anyone down this way so Im looking for new people to hang out with.
  8. Anyone heading to this?: http://goldengears.tripod.com/events/daybreakadultdayservicesbenefitshow.html Ill be there on sunday.
  9. I've used mine for picking up several engines, as well as dropping crap off at the scrap yard, and also tow my motorcycle around along with moving furniture and boxes to another state where I'll be moving to. But I still clean it up and it shines like new every time.
  10. I should be moving out to the Hagerstown, MD area in about 2 months or so. I've been coming down back and forth from jersey almost every other week moving stuff to my storage unit. We are just waiting to hear from the landlords to see when we can move in. I'm looking for more people to hang out with in this area, or if there are any meets going on in any surrounding cities.
  11. Still have plans for mine (shackle drop for the rear, ram air hood, turbo, built trans etc.) but this is it so far:

Im looking to swap my mechanical drive fan to electronic fans. I know I have a few options like factory 2005+ fans from either a dealer or junk yard then a harness from nelson, or some aftermarket set. my question is if anyone has the GM part number for the factory fans, or what are the aftermarket companies that make them. I want something that doesnt look like ass when installed and something that works really well.
