  1. Good kill!! Theres a Cummins that pulls consistant very low 12 second passes at New England Dragway. So you really do never know about those diesels.
  2. I did let it down before tightening everything, but there is a chance i overtightened. Me and a buddy cranked on them with quite a large breaker bar for the last couple rotations. I'll loosen them up when i get home today and see what happens. Do you know if there is torque specs for those bolts?
  3. So i put my McGaughy's 2"drop shackles in yesterday with the torsion drop in the front. No new keys, just drop the stockers down. I went for a drive around the block to re-check height, and make sure everything tightend down afterwards and everything is good and even. When leaving my house this morning for work theres a lot of moans and groans coming from the rear suspension. It doesnt sound like a shock, but just the leaf springs making noise when i go over and bump or rough road. I got to work and hopped up on the bumper and gave the ole heeve ho up and down a couple times and its a very noticeable noise. Now ive heard people talking about how the new shackles will "settle", so is this anything i should worry about? i looked under the truck, brackets and all hardware look good, nothing loose, so am i good?
  4. I'll be there for whatever date is chosen. This time i swear i'll stick around longer than Carlisle.
  5. Working 7:00 am to 11:30 pm....At what point did my life take the the turn where i'd agree to this nonsense.

  6. Hey man if you decide to extend your trip to NH let me know we'll meet up. I wouldnt mind taking a ride up to Maine for some lobster!
  7. Welcome man, i was there for most of the day Saturday in a black one as well.
  8. So got my truck back a day before the long to trip to Carlisle. The verdict was that the retaining clip that holds the preload for the bearing had snapped...which the nut that holds the bearing in had loosened itself all the way and was rubbing on my ring and pinion. Needless to say is scored the crap out of it. He said that there was 7 or 8 large chunks of metal that fell out when he tore it apart. Luckily, i dont have to replace the ring and pinion. He replaced the bearings, axle seals, spider gears, he fabricated a new retaining clip, and a couple other things. The noise is completely gone, and there is no shaking at highway speeds now. So im happy.
  9. Ya sorry guys, i was definitly bumming about not be able to hang out, I was looking forward to meeting you guys. It was just a long weekend feeling like hell the whole time. I'll definitly be at some more meets though, and im glad i made the trip. Also definitly going to make the trip again next year. I'll make sure not to stop twice on the way down for McDonalds.
  10. Hey guys, it was great to meet you all, and i wish i could have had more of a chance to get to know you guys but i was feeling a little under the weather all weekend. I actually ended up leaving sunday morning around 8 am for the 10 HOUR drive home (I hate traffic). I look forward to the Lebanon valley meet though and look forward to getting to know some of you guys better. Thanks again to everyone for being very welcoming, i had a great time. P.s. Dan good luck with the brakes man. Just think a bright blue rotor will be a good souvenir for the trip.
  11. Soo the update is, the truck is going to the shop tonight and my front end is being rebuilt this weekend. Bearings, seals, spider gears, and a few other things. its a bummer, but the guy who's doing it is someone i know and is a pretty reputable differential service mechanic. He does all the diff. work for the shop that i bring all of my vehicles to, and 6 or 7 around the area. He's doing everything for 800 so i guess i can't complain too much. Plus he's doing it as a side job over the weekend so i'll have the truck back by Monday. I'll let you know how it comes out. James
  12. What part of NH did you go to? i might have seen you too
  13. Well first off even if the cadi front end was cool the quality of this one is dog****. Plus even without the cadi front, things in rough shape. Oh and i loooove the high quality wood grain finish on the interior....
  14. Well i wont be there till about 5 or 6 pm on Friday due to work, but i'll make sure im there sometime around 8 on saturday.
  15. I'm more of a camping man myself, so i'll be staying at Dogwood campground. What time is everybody headin over on Saturday? I don't want to be the late guy, and this will be my first time being down there so i'm not quite sure what to do here....
  16. Well, maybe i should do some asking around then. Like i said i mainly didnt call anywhere else because this guy came highly recommended and not knowing the going rate, it seemed great he'd do it on a weekend. $400 seemed a little high to me too which is why i wanted to ask. Thanks guys.
  17. Hey guys, So next weekend i will dropping off my stock SS rims to be sandblasted and powdercoated black. There is 4 or 5 shops in the area that do powdercoating, but the one i'm taking them to came highly recommended from a friend of mine that own's a body shop. He is charging me $400 for the rims, and is actually coming in to do them on a weekend for me because i work monday through friday. I didnt do much asking around for pricing because this seemed very reasonable to me, and the guy seems like a good guy. Just wondering if there's anyone on here who's had powdercoating done on their rims, and if you guys think this is a good price.
  18. does it make much of a difference using 75 weight compared to 80 in the front? I got some Royal Purple 75W-90 to change out the front and i wanted to make sure.
  19. Sent them an e-mail. Thanks for the information, and the link.
  20. No pics yet, and i'm honeslty not sure i'd check the Corsa site, and look through the product list. Tomorrow i'll be taking pics of the truck, and getting a sound clip of the exhaust. I'll make sure to get a shot of the muffler.
  21. Okay, so....i'll put gas in my truck....im guessing more than once on the ride. If you see someone pushing a black SS into the fairgrounds, with a sign in the windshield that says i should have listened, then you can say i told you so. Haha. I'll have everything else covered. I just wanted to make sure i didnt leave anything out. Also bib not necessary. considering the gf is making the trip with me i have to do my best to control the drooling. However maybe a "hey uhhh why dont you go get us something to eat" will be in order at that time.
  22. Welcome to the site. I'm actually running a corsa db which i havent seen much if any in here, and i love it. Sounds very throaty and can be loud, but will quiet down when you want it to.
  23. I'm definitly into alpine, although i have a pioneer head unit which im pretty happy with.
