  1. you could just buy the "drain hole kit" from your local speed shop. simply drill a hole and weld the bung in...i went with a TA girdle cover..so it supports both main caps and for extra $$$ you can also get arp studs for your mains. there is a how to on here on the girlde...as for price i think i paid around 180 CAD for the cover and studs.
  2. got mine off ebay..keystone roll pan. 18 gauge steel. cut out for a hitch behind the plate...65.56 free shipping in the states.. and it was a awesome product when it showed up to my door. and fitmit was amazing. just scuffed it down and took it for paint.
  3. i wish! but canada is a little pricey for booze.. needless to say go everything in and together...paint patterns were right in line..also spent 2 hours getting the shims right for the carrier.. theis break in period that motive requires is 500 light miles....bit of howling but i guess that is what the break in period is..only downside is that i forgot the m8 allen bolts required for the ta diff cover install so i gotta change the fluid after the break in so ill do it then...other than that it went all to plan.. good thing the parts store was only a couple minutes away. ill post pictures asap. but right now in calgary its 1 am...just got back from a nice cruise and a run in a 383 magna charged sierra...speachless
  4. okay update.. spent 1110.60$ at the local speed shop...Ta cover, arp studs, motive heavy duty gears, motive rebuild kit, and of course a free comp cams fender cover for some odd reason.. but tonight got the truck to my uncles house ( sketch) and tore apart the old diff revieling alot more debris. doing the brakes as well. will post pictures in the next couple days of all the goodies and final product.
  5. sounds like you got a foot in the right direction! my only recomendation is that you do a posi in it with gears and the girdle. as my 2006 silverados stock rear end just shat the bed with just basic bolt ons. also i would look into adding some more transmission mods than just the converter to help getting that power to the ground...but this is just me..a crazy canadian. haha
  6. priced everything up....160 for a ta girgle, 520 for the eaton, 120 for motive gears, 40 bucks for the crush sleeve eliminator kit, 120 for the top of the line rebuid kit, 24 for arp cap studs, 25 bucks for arp ring bolts, and 60 for fluids and extras also about 40 bucks for the 24 of budweiser. i will take pics as the build continues...here is one of the carnage
  7. yes thats what im doing friday. about 500 for the true trac and 120 for motive gears..120 for the bearing and seal kit aswell...but im still wondering about the "service brake system" and "ABS" lights?
  8. ripped the cover off this morning...needless to say i need a new rear end
  9. So tonight i was going down the road in my 2006 silverado Z71. came up to some train tracks that are know in calgary to be horrilbe..i slowed down to take them easy..about 30 km/hr, I go over them and hear my tires cherp...and then no power. managed to coast to the lawn of the nearby blvd. got out and noticed my abs and SERVICE BRAKE SYSTEM lights came on...i shut it down and started it up again. put it in drive and gave it some gas...seemed like it was almost staging or had a heavy load, and not moving. put it in reverse and heard a horrible noise. exactly like the rear end was hooped. so called the local ama got it towed to my house and here i sit..cruising the pages of silveradoss.com in need of some help.. am i just tired or is this a rear end issue? (my most valid guess) and what are your guys and gals suggestions to help build this mother up... altho its still a 10 bolt. im thinking motive ring and pinion a a tru-trac....and of course a rebuild kit for the housing if its not gone too....any suggestions and help would be amazing!
  10. about a 1.15 a liter in calgary...little more for husky 94
