Both myself and the previous owner used Mobil 1 in my truck. When I did my cam swap and pulled my valve covers, they were as clean as new. The whole top end looked like new actually. This is with 130k on it. I ran RP for an oil change but couldn't justify the price on it. Do yourself a favor though don't use fram filters. Go with a Mobile 1, Wix, Napa Gold, or K&N.

I am needing to know what would be a better brand of synthetic oil, mobil 1 or schaffers?? Gonna go in a 2003 Sss with 38,000 miles??

Anybody install the bolt over grille from t-rex grilles?? need to know how much of the oem grille you trim up to make the overlay look right install directions not very clear.Grille is on my 03 Sss and i dont want to roach the stock grille if i dont need to?

Go with a magnaflow 14289 you wont be sorry, i put one on 2 weeks ago and love it had a flowmaster 40 series and hated it.

it'll wake that sucker up thats fer sure, as far as mpg u wont be able to keep ur foot out of it long enough to tell

Ok so can anybody tell me how is my truck going to perform after i get a tune and a 160 degree t-stat, i will have a k and n cai, new plugs (delco iridium) new wires (taylor wires) and a magnaflow muffler. Hope to see big improvement on mpg and hp???????

Cool i think i will get wires then ssek a tune, i get a little discount on parts from working in an auto parts store so i will go ahead and probably get wires and delco plugs, and see what gains it makes?

Wouldn't change plugs wire just yet but only if you want to. I changed my plugs and wires at 100K.

 

Spend your money on a tune.. Blackbear, Wheatley, Zippy. Do some looking around on here and Im sure you will get some good ideas!!

 

 

truck is a daily driver how much down time am i looking at with a wheatley tune,i know you have to take out ecm and ship it to him, but on the up side any down time will be worth the wait for a wheatley tune i understand!!

u dont really need wires. especially with that low of miles its not really gonna give u a better spark. i wouldnt waste money on them. i would get a 160* stat but make sure u tell whoever u decide to get it tuned that u have it

 

Should i get new plugs or spend money elsewhere on performance?? I want to go through everything because it set for awhile before i bought it, but it seems very well kept and just want all the possible ponies and performance possible?

Anybody have any complaints bout these wires taylor 409 (pn#79205 red ones). I have just got a deal on a 2003 ss awd with 35,000 miles it doesnt really need them but i want to get all the performance out of it tha i can afford. I have put a magnaflow exhaust on and going for k and n cai, i am going to replace the plugs with delco iridium plugs when i do, then i am going to get an tune and whatever cash permits me to do???

go with the 22" magnaflow tru x thats what i got after my drone was to bad, its an awesome muffler, quite at first but will get abit louder once you drive it abit

I had a magnaflow in mine and loved the outside sound but just effen hated the drone. I switched out to a full Corsa cat back kit I got on e-bay new dirt cheap. Love the fact I have no more drone but the tone is not what I was hoping for. I really loved the way the magnaflow sounded. This exhaust has crackle tone to it vs a deep tone. Good luck. I have read that if you stay away from the y pipe end were it dumps into the exhaust tip it should cure some of the drone.

 

 

I would love a full corsa touring cat back but cant find one for dirt cheap. I will try the magnaflow and see whats up with it and if that dont work going corsa cat back and calling it good!!!!!!

i got flowmaster delta flow 40 series on mine and have no drone at all.

 

 

Mine is not real bad but i want it to be a little less quite i gonna get a magnaflow if i know foe sure ot will be less interior growl (wife hates it) ( ,its not loud enuff to drown her out)!

I just got a flowmaster 40 series muffler in stalled on my 03 awd Sss. I love the sound on the outside but the inside is a little two much, will a 22 inch magnaflow dual in dual out muffler give me that deep sound outside and no drone inside???????
