  1. x 17 .. at least shackles and back the bolts out of the TBs a bit.
  2. so what if it was the transmission that tore up the converter and not vise-versa? Did you contact TCI and send them back the so-called malfunctioning converter because if the converter actually "took out" the rest of the trans they should have payed at least partial damages. That's the thing though. I've had the exact same lock up SF 3000 stall in my cammed LT1 fbody running very low 12s. I had that converter in there for at least 30-40,000 miles before i sold the car to get something else. Not one single issue.
  3. I dont understand why people talk so much shit about the TCI converters just from hearsay. Even on other website people say they are garbage without even having experience or siting other problems. for example: http://ls1tech.com/forums/lt1-lt4-modifications/506567-tci-3000-stall-any-good-2.html
  4. Everyone and their mother is saying whatever you do stay AWAY from TCI torque converters. But no one is saying why to stay away. I've had nothing but good luck with TCI products, reasonably priced too! I had a TCI street fighter 3000 lockup stall in my LT1 trans am with OUTSTANDING results. Dropped my ET by a 1/2 second! So whats the deal?
  5. any reasons in particular not to get a TCI? the price is right and Ive had good luck in the past with them. anti-ballooning plate and lockup.. seems right to me! http://www.summitracing.com/parts/tci-242931
  6. I have a vette servo, trans shifts very nice with the tune. whats wrong with TCI? I had the same street fighter 3000 stall in my Trans Am it worked PERFECTLY!
  7. its a mild cam 218/228 .525/.525 112lsa, im thinking its mild enough for the stock converter for now .. it is my daily driver. the kit comes with LS6 springs and retainers. the point of the OP is knowing if its even worth it to throw the converter in a 78000 miles trans
  8. Hey all! I'm debating either doing an LS1 hot cam kit OR TCI 3000 stall. I know I'm going to need a higher stall with the cam, so I really WANT to do both but money for this project is tight at the moment. I have 78,000 miles on the truck with vette servo, OBX LTs, no cats 3" duals out the side, K&N intake, and custom diablosport tune by lew. Should I get the 3000 stall TC now even though the trans has 78k? or just get a cam for now until the trans takes a shit THEN build it with a higher stall? Any help would be appreciated!
  9. whoever said the military was getting a pay freeze is an idiot.. Obama actually approved a 1.4% increase in military pay.. http://www.snopes.com/politics/military/payfreeze.asp
  10. whats so awesome about it?? its not even a real SS
  11. True dual 3" straight pipes with magnaflow X pipe.. stock cats/manifolds cold start - revs - lemme know what ya guys think.
  12. sounds awesome! stock manifolds? how did you end up deleting the cats?? cut em off then put straight pipes? post some pics of the system if you can
  13. first of all dont let a woman drive your SS unless you're drunk.. problem solved
  14. an x pipe will get rid of the popping and raspyness.. im thinking of going dual 3" straights with a magnaflow x pipe
  15. I am 150% GM only.. Completely DIEHARD. I almost got into a fight with my wifes friends father because he was a Ford guy talking shit about my SS. Then i thought to myself he was comparing a 2010 mustang to my SS which he wanted to race me.. I just walked away. **** them idiots.
