  1. im looking into http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/WheelCloseUpServlet?target=runWheelSearch&autoMake=Chevrolet&autoModel=Silverado+SS&autoYear=2003&autoModClar=&initialPartNumber=14222983C30C&i1_Qty=4&wheelMake=Sport+Muscle&wheelModel=Nitro+6&wheelFinish=Chrome+Plated&wheelFinish=Chrome+Plated&showRear=no tire rack is saying The factory wheel width is 8.5". Using wheels 9.5" or wider may rub on the driver's side bumper cover. i dont plan on changing the OD of the tire when i buy the tires but does anyone have a 9.5 tire and does it rub?. dont want any unexpected rubbing
  2. thanks guys.. i do notice the center of the plastic piece extends slightnly from the rest and the LEER hard cover and in turn the rubber on the insude edge of the cover rubs on the plastic piece and it gets all rubber and shit all over it.. ( goo-gone fixes that) im thinking about just removing those 6-8 inches of the rubber to prevent this contact. it is only the rubber and not the actual fiberglass cover. thoughts?
  3. i was at work, went to open my tailgate but itpoped off lol. i had noticed that it has been getting lost over the past 4 months but didnt think much f it. what kind of adhesive should be used to re-attach it?. im guessing just 3M or is there a more all weather solution?. what are the holes for?. there are 4 of them on the top of the tailgate?. snap in cover or something? also there is ALOT of scratches in the paint under the plastic cover. is there a way to prevent them once i re-attach the cover? just curious.
  4. hey all. had a quick question for all of you who know about tires. since all i know is how much air to out in them lol. i will be buying new tires for my current rims for the winter time. i was looking at "Hankook Optimo H725A " ied like to stay with hankook tires just wanted to see if it would make a good winter tire. 275-55-20 im buying a new set of rims/tires for the summer and was looking at "Hankook Ventus ST RH06" 275-55-22. ( i haven't made any decisions as to which rims im buying but the size is set. i don't want to change the ride height on the truck. but just looking for some feedback. how loud the tires are when driving and the overall performance. i had hankooks on my Camaro and loved them. feedback would be apreciated. thanks guys.
  5. I'm having 2 coolant lines replaced next week be cause they are indeed leaking verrryyyy slowly. And my from diff seals are getting replaced along with new fluid. He will be looking into the reason why it is running to lean. So at this point I think it might be as simple as a cracked or bad connection in a vacuum line. I didn't see anything when I did a simple visual inspection of the lines around my motor. But then again I don't have a lift In my back yard. Lol. So hopefully it will get resolved next week. Thanks for your help and suggestions . Let me know if you can think of anything else. More help the better.
  6. So my mechanic replaced my intake manifold. He did a smoke test and said it was leaking bad. Now the weird part is on my way to work the light came on again with the same codes. P0171 and P0174. Same as before at this point I have new O2 sensors, new MAF. And new intake manifold gasket. Slightly irritating. My mechanic says to give it a few days. But if the problem is fixed shouldn't it go away? Or is there a break in period for such things?.
  7. My coolant level is still good. Hasn't moved from what I can tell. I just had it flushed this past summer.
  8. My mechanic will check be4 he takes anything apart to conferm . But his thoughts is that its the intake manifold gasket. And I agree because I've replaced the other possible causes. O2 sensors and MAF. Unless there is a gash in a vacuum line. Which I doubt. An intake manifold is a bit behond my driveway repair skills. I also am having him check a coolant line that is all gooped up with crap. I want to make sure the crimp is not getting lose. (Right where is goes from a metal pipe off the radiator to the rubber hose. Also looks like there is oil all over the bottom of the motor. I know its not a clean place but I don't want any surprises down the road. Just doesn't look good.
  9. Just scheduled for the intake manifold gasket to be replaced. Awesome. Have to loon into a new seat heater tho.. Thx guys..
  10. I don't notice a rough idle when its cold. But if I go to back up and turn the wheel its hard to turn for like a half second til the power steering kicks in. Almost like an air bubble. But that's the only thing j notice. That's not dependant on the cold. Normally happens when I start my truck up for the day of when its been sitting for a few hrs. I always thought it was nothing. I'll but some Carb cleaner and spray around. Thx
  11. I still have about the same crappy 14-16 MPG I was getting. No performance issues that u have noticed. All I have is a cold air intake and a tune in from my Diablo sport tuner. But all of that was after I've had these error codes. I don't know how to check my fuel pressure. I think my Diablo sport tuner can monitor that. If not how would I? I will look for leaks around the intake manifolds
  12. With the broken rocker wouldn't I see a serious performance drain? I'll have to look up how yo swap injectors. That's new to me. I just replaced my plugs and wires this past summer but I'm unsure of the coil packs. I don't remember
  13. Ok guys I'm sure you can guess the codes I'm getting. I've replaced my MAF and all 4 O2 sensors. Not 20 miles down the road my light comes back on. Kinda pissing me off at this point. Anyone have any insight as to what's causing this? My next step is replace all the vacuum lines in my motor. Most of the arrivals I've read said its most likely the MAF or O2 sensors. Could it be injectors that Arnt squirting enough! fuel? . Any help would be appreciated. I'm already 500 bucks in repairs and no resolution. But I love my Chevy. On a side note my drivers heated seat gets extremely hot right on the left side. To the point of almost burning my ass lol. I havnt looked as of yet but is there a replacement out there? Hard to install? The back works great. Just the seat
