Hey everyone. Got a question that I bet I can get a quick answer to.

 

Got a 1999 chevy 1500. Had a 5.3L engine. It's dead. Can we use one from a 2004 truck?

(not worried about tuning. Got that covered. Just need to know if the current harness will work and of things like alternator and power steering will work or bolt on)

You can use a 4.8, 5.3, 6.0 LS series engine from 99-06 Trucks direct swap

 

You can also use the following engines if you change the oil pan, windage tray, dipstick, intake manifold, and crank pulley.

 

 

5.7 LS1 from 97-04 Corvette can be used

5.7 LS1 from 98-02 Camaro/Firebird can be used

5.7 LS1 from 04 Pontiac GTO can be used

5.3 LM4 from 03-04 SSR, Trailblazer, Envoy can be used

 

All of the engines that I have listed are 24 tooth reluctor

Thanks man. Ya I had to go with silver birch. All I ever see running around is black and red. To me it's the rarest color, even over the blue. Ya I like it and the sound, bit I'm getting tired of cleaning the dang thing all the time. Bout to switch it up.

 

Im a sucker for Silver Birch...I dont have a SS but both my trucks are the same color. BTW when I first opened this thread I thought it was gonna be "I traded my SS for a new Tundra" Thankfully it was not the case here!

[Wtt My Grill 4 Yours]

Want to trade my LS grill for a SS grille, will also include the billet grille. Color is 59U/Silver Birch The grille is in perfect shape, the haze on the grille and lights is frost.

 

 

One of my co-workers found out that I dont like chrome so he asked to swap grilles with me, pretty good deal since his SS is the same color as my Avalanche. Its driving me nut that my trucks don't match!

6.0 Engine from 2006 2500 HD, engine is burned from a interior fire but it does turn over by hand. Willl need a new intake manifold and top sensors. $700
