  1. Hey man i went and got the book from my 06 silverado, i think i found where the acc fuse is located. i will do my best to explain where it is and hopefully it will be the issue.

It is located in the panel under the hood.

Now looking at the fuses from the drivers fender you should see 2 rows of big square looking fuses at the top of your panel

Below that you start getting into smaller fuses on your panel

go to the 3rd row down and the acc fuse should or could be the last small fuse on the right side of that 3rd row.

i wish i could just post a pic of this diagram but my photobucket acc is down right now.

If you still need help i'll keep my book handy and try to explain it a bit better.

  2. I haven't switched to synthetic in my truck yet but i have do use it in my 02 grand prix GTP, and have been for the past 8 year's.

Improved milage and performance are a YES

There is nothing i can add to this thread that the guys here haven't mentioned, its worth the little extra to run it.

  3. First let me say that that is one WICKED looking beast you have.

How bad is the peeling on your cap's? Can you post some pics because if its only peeling paint you can easily repair that yourself.

For 107 for a new one thats just a rip off.

I just redid all the wheels on my Silverado as the clear was peeling and the edges were becoming weathered. and they looked like crap.

Cost me 30 bucks to do all 4 wheels. you only have centers

Post pic so i can see maybe i can help you out and explain how you can fix them up.

If your wondering what experience i have, i spent 25 years in the auto body trade and yes plastic can be repainted. its all in the prep.

You can possibly repair all 4 caps for 40 bucks or less.

  4. Look at the bright side, your wheels look awesome! I actually do like them. Kind of unique. Good luck on the shop search. Guess it's kind of a crapshoot all over. I got my new estimate today... From another hopefully reputable shop...$570. How do ya like that, over $1000 to paint a damn hood, and that's not even stripped to the metal.

Man i really have to chime in on this thread, first let me tell you my name is Bernie and i can't begin to tell you the number of times i have heard horror body shop stories on different automotive sites.

When ever i read a thread about someone getting or about to get body work and or paint work i stress out to the fact for that person to always do their research on a shop and even the guy that holds the paint gun in the end. How good is he and how long has he painted.

Before you do anything make sure you take lot's of pictures of his screw up. the more you have before and after the work the easier it will be for you to fight this. But i'm sure collecting from this guy won't be easy,

write down everything you encountered with this guy dates phone conversations even the blow up at the shop.

Any reputable shop will have a list of very happy customers, and even a web of the buisness and shots of cars they have repaired, try and talk to some of the previous customers if you can,

I spent 25 year's of my working career in the body shop trade, the last 5 was strictly collision and custom work. I changes career's after being fed up with co=workers who only cared about the money and not the customer for way to long.

Just so you know most repaint job's are never taken down to bare metal unless there is a specific reason for it. 500 is about the norm for spraying a hood and thats if the guy knows what he's doing.

Do your research, sry your having such a shitty deal with this guy. Good luck

  5. FinallySS === Pics ahhhh ya i'll work on that, not anything special just a stock 06 CCSB Z71 5.3 4WD

stormchaser-- ya western canada is pretty nice, i assume your talking about the mountains in British Columbia, I have been from coast to coast, and travelled down to NYS and Penn. a few times, really liked it down there as my wife aunt was born and raised in NYC but now lives here. Also have family in rodchester but haven't seen then in years.
