I've towed with my AWD 04 SS, I think you'd be alright.. I've towed a livestock trailer with 2 Longhorn Bulls on one occasation... Same livestock trailer with 2 horses.. Vehicles; a 2 92 Cadillac, a 91 Cadillac... Even a salvaged boat... Haha just given you an idea

If and will an AWD Front differential from a 2007 GMC Denali fit on an AWD 2004 Silverado SS? Would there be any benefits of having the upgraded differential?

So I'm gettin ready to get my new Axle shaft for my truck, I took the bad one off and was quite surprised.. Here's some pictures.

Thanks for the input. As it is I already beat my friend, he won't race me no more ha, plus he's not the racing type. My other buddy has a 2001 5.3 ext cab silverado with a shift kit and a homemade PVC pipe intake..."sigh" He keeps up about a car length and a half...ish? away. I always thought my SS was a bit quicker then other stock SS's. Now that I think about it, I have gotten new cats.. The guy who owns the muffler shop I went to said they were high performance cats, but I think they were just plain universals. I do however want to add a full exhaust from headers on down. I was thinking about some Dynatech headers with maybe some different cats, depending on the condition of the ones I have now when I actually do it, leading into a Borla exhaust possibly. I'm not quite sure of what kind of intake i want quite yet.. What exactly is a custom tune that you mentioned, is that like a superchip or something similar?

No. none. My SS is a virgin, lol. I wanted a quick pony boost and my friend has a 4.6 Crew cab silverado he added a spacer and an intake and his gas mileage went up along with a nice boost, so I figured if I did the same maybe I'd get some good results. I do however want to add a shift kit and a stall converter, just dont fully understand it quite yet..

So i want to add a new breathing system that is affordable, so I'm debating on getting a throttle body, a spacer, and an intake. However I came across a 80mm throttle body, and the question came to me, what size is my stock throttle body now? and also if there is possibly a throttle body thats bigger then 80mm, but is still direct fit without major modifications? http://www.summitrac...parts/BBK-1757/ Thats the throtle body I'm thinking about purchasing, can anybody help me with my questions? or provide any suggestions?

Thanks guys, I did find a full front differntial through LKQ for about $800 with a standard 6 month warranty, $1000 with a one year parts and labor warranty. But even better, I called my local Chevy dealership and they have the shaft alone for about $450 with a one year warranty BRAND SPANKIN NEW!!! So I will probably go that route. Thanks for all the input.

So I was lowering my truck, but the jack I was using was too small, so of course it slipped and dropped the front of my truck about a foot down sending the jack hitting a shaft and putting a BIG crack into it. Needless to say it is now losing about a quart to a quart and a half a day of what I think is transmission fluid? The shaft is coming from my transfer case..? I'm not sure exactly, what I do know, the little differential look alike ball has a CV joint comin from the driver side while the shaft I speak of is headed to the passengers side and meets up with my passenger side CV joint.. What I need to know is the name of the "shaft" and if it is available without me having to get the whole ball and shaft. I've looked through manuals hoping to luck out but no such luck.. can anybody help me? I have two pictures that may help describe my dilemma
