Thanks for all the info. What are common mods to Silverados? I've always been into the tuner scene and the first things we like to do is lower the car. I'm not really sure about trucks though.

Hey guys, I'm from SoCal (Santa Monica/Venice), I'll be getting a Silverado in the next 2-3 months. I've been in the Honda car scene for the past 3 years since I was 16, turning 20 soon. I'm moving towards the American Muscle scene now. I've been looking at quite a few Silverados 03-06 and seems that I want an extended cab with the 5.3 V8 and LT package with leather interior with center console. I would like to get a SS but they're about $3-5K more than a LT Silverado. What are some things I should look at when looking at one? Is there a way to tell the difference between the 4.8 and 5.3 V8s from the engine bay? I'm not really fimilar with this forum, is there regional section? Are there meets?
