  1. If I were you, I would do a Cold Air Intake (CAI), Wheatley Tune, Long Tubes, Cat-Back Exhaust, Trangs-go shift kit w/ Vette servos, etc, New Plugs/wires, 160* thermostat to start. If you decide to go FI or just add heads/cam IMO I would do the above mods first. Just throwing a blower or a head/cam package at the truck with everything else stock would be a waste of money and performance IMO.
  2. Yes Dan, I asked them if they had plans for our trucks also. They said why would we want to do that? I tried to tell them that they were missing a big part of the performance truck market. They proceded to argue with me, so I said thats fine I'll give Dynatech my business. I was just trying to help a fellow NY business out, but I guess they know everything. LOL
  3. Man they were azzholes when I called them too Dan....
  4. I would have said STFU, then if it was true I would probably jump up and down like a 10 year old. Thats awesome...
  5. Thanks man, I know you guys went through the same BS. I don't have to tell you much about how GM treats us dealers. We were stickelers to as far as the training goes too. Everything was 100% across the board sales/service, and we had the highest CSI in our district. I haven't heard of any letters being sent out to customers, but I wouldn't be surprised. A lot of my customers will switch to Ford or Dodge because they refuse to do their business outside of town, and they are the only others in my town. Yeah, I heard GM was going to keep open 600 of the dealerships they initially "cut" last summer. We'll see how that turns out, they shouldn't have done this to begin with. Somehow the Gov't rammed it into their heads that less dealers=more profits. Which is pretty funny seeing as how we pay out the butt just to BE a GM dealer, much less buy their cars for out lot.
  6. I'm sorry to hear this Jason, hang in there man. Ya'll haven't been married too long though? Maybe suggest some couseling? Best of luck, I know I would be crushed if I was in your shoes. Teddy
  7. I don't think we would rule that out, but to be honest we have been discussing going used. The money is better, and you don't have corporate to deal with. I could tell stories all day long about how GM milks us for $. Small example, you know the nice Blue/White signs sitting out front of every GM dealership across the country? Well, dealerships do not own these signs, each dealer across the nation pays "rent" every month to GM for these signs...pretty F'ed up huh? A sign that is on your property and that you pay to light is actually owned by GM...and you pay to have it there on top of that. I think we payed $120 a month to have the sign on our property, X that by 20 years..., then figure out how many dealers there are in the nation....3000-5000 X $120 a month....and how are they in trouble?????!!!!! AND BELIEVE ME THAT IS A SMALL EXAMPLE!
  8. I heard the same rumor about political parties. I know this was something the major news networks picked up on. I really do not know if there was any truth to this. In my opinion it seems pretty far fetched, but who knows with the government. New car prices are set by GM, both invoice and MSRP. Believe it or not, there is more money to be made on used cars.
  9. Definately set on an SUV? What about a Colorado/Canyon Crew? I just bought an '05 Canyon X-Cab "Off-Road" (Z-71) and it has been a nice DD for me so far. Good gas mileage, towing, etc. I would stay far away from the Jeep's if it was me....
  10. Keep your head up Justin, get it outta the way while you are young! You'll be fine!
  11. Justin, I don't know much about your dad's situation, but if it is anything like ours the only advice I would give to him is to try and get a floorplan somewhere else. GM/GMAC just do not care about the little guy anymore, which is sad because we are the dealers that made GM what they are today. I appreciate your words, and I am thinking of your family as well. I know what you are going through. Teddy
  12. It seems like a little bit ($ wise) goes a long way with these diesel's....they are fun. Banks 6 Gun FTW, with intake, exhaust. HELLO BLACK SMOKE Seriously though, a long box.......do you even own a 10' ladder, LOL J/K....Love it!
  13. Plugged cat converter?
  14. Subscribed, I'm happy for ya Dan...can't wait to hear a sound clip!
  15. I'm not usually one to vent on public forums or discuss my personal life, but most of you guys are a good group and I enjoy talking to you guys. After months of keeping this inside, I just need to vent and get this off of my chest, I'm not whining! Some of you may or may not know that I worked in sales at my father's GM dealership, I have worked there since I was a little dude. Well after 20 years in the business, we were forced to close the dealership. We were a Chevrolet, Buick, Pontiac, GMC dealership. My family has been selling brand new GM's since my Grandfather returned from the war in 1945. I liked to believe we were pretty honest businessmen both to our customers and to our financial lenders. We were selling vehicles to 4th and 5th generation families, repeat business was our business. I'll try to keep this as brief as possible, but to start we did make the "cut" last summer when GM was sending out the termination letters. In fact, 2008 was our best year across the board in the 20 years that we were in business. We have always had our floorplan with GMAC, as did my Grandfather since 1945 in his old store. On Jan 1st 2009, GMAC started doing things that made us wonder what the hell was going on, cutting wholesale lines, raising floorplan interest, wanting curtailment payments on overaged units, etc...things that they have never done before. Mind you my father has always been straight with GMAC, never an issue with payment, never and issue with audits, nothing, nothing, nothing. The last thing he would do is screw GMAC, I mean our family has been with them since 1945! In 2007 and 2008 we maybe had 2 audits combined, 2009 they were coming every two weeks. Again never an issue, they told us it was their "new policy". About June 1st, they started charging dealers $600 per audit (where before they did not)..."new policy". So my father called around to his other friends that are small GM dealers such as us, and boom same thing across the board. Guys that have been in business for 30-40 years. All the while GMAC was getting their share of the bailout, and starting Ally bank. They've now gotten two bailouts and they still don't have any money. Remember Ditech.Com, GMAC lost their ass when they got into the junk mortgage business, and have made poorer and poorer investments since. But they chose to take it out on their auto financing arm, because they can during this economy. So on my fathers birthday (I'm sure intentionally), GMAC sent my father a certified letter saying that we have until the first of the year (2010) to go find a floorplan somewhere else, because they are re-evaluating their small dealer floorplan network. Basically saying, that they do not make enough money off of small rural dealers such as us, blah, blah, blah. They are blaming the economy, car sales and every other fricken thing they can but their lack of intelligence. This was pretty much a death sentence, because unless you have been living under a rock, you know the shape of the car business right now. No bank even wants to give you an application, much less talk to you. But of course we tried, nationally & locally the answer was the same. So on December 23rd, the last of the vehicles were sold/wholesaled, etc and we closed up shop (because our floorplan ended at Dec 23rd 12AM...nice kick in the nuts). I'd also like to point out, as my father did to GMAC and GM, that we were leading the district in the month of December with 20+ new car deliveries, beating dealerships 3X our size. What a horrible Christmas that was, I would have liked to have ruined a few of the people at GMAC/GM's X-Masses. I'm not trying to sound like a conspiracy theorist or whatever, but it seems as though GM/GMAC must have worked together to cut the small dealerships they could by terminating their floorplan, as GM couldn't due to performance. Both parties knew dealerships like ours didn't have a prayer of getting a floorplan with another financial institution. This is what other small friendly dealers have said too. As they say, I guess it'll all come around someday and bite GM/GMAC in the ass, but that doesn't due much to improve my situation. If you buy from your local rural dealership, support them. Because they are likely going through the same mess that we did, they might not make it. So, its been real real rough on me for the past few months. We were a couple of years away of working into the transition phase of me taking the dealership over from my father. That I could really care less about that now, the toll this has taken on my whole family is heartbreaking. I don't think I have to say that I'll never give GM .$2C of my money ever again. I'll cherish my SSS, but thats about all I'll say about that. Thanks for listening, Teddy
  16. I've been around, haven't been posting much. Thanks for checking in on us
  17. What are you hearing from the dealer as far as information or documents? The number 25 Boostd1 is probably referring to are the same numbers that are decaled on the lower drivers side of the windshield (see photo--red circle) of the participating vehicles. It just means his is #25 of however many they used in the festivities. The use of the Silverado SS truck in the 2003 Indy 500 festivities is confusing at best. The SSR paced Indy that year, but they also had a slew of Corvettes that were actually the "parade vehicles". Parade vehicles are used to transport the drivers through the downtown parade in the days leading up to the 500, as well as a pre-race lap for the drivers/celebs in the hour leading up to the 500. The Silverado SS's (according to Indypacecars.com) were "dealer-drive-away promotion" vehicles. Meaning the biggest dealerships in the Indy-Chicago metro areas got to come to the track and take them home to sell as a "special edition" as a perq of being a big dealer. Were they actually used to take drivers/celebrities around the track before the 500? Probably not, the Corvette's did this. But they could have been used during the "Indy-Lite's" race the day before. There is a photo (on indypacecars.com) of the truck's on the front-stretch (which could..or could not mean anything), as they also used to allow dealers to take the vehicle around the track as a pace lap before parking it and taking it home after the race, so its hard to say what their capacity was. What would I do? I would try and get the name of the dealership who sold the vehicle new (A simple GM VIS of the VIN by a GM dealer would tell you this). This would likely be the dealer that took delivery of the truck at IMS. Ask them the deal. Ask them what documentation, if any. I'm not doubting that this truck is the real deal, but I would do some homework, because (although unlikely) some fan could put an Indy 500 decal on his tailgate and told this dealer its a "Indy edition". Sorry if I am rambling a little, its 1:20AM. Best of luck, let me know if I can be of any help.

  20. I'd rock one. Saw and orange one and a white one at the dealer and they were sweet. But, the 6.2L's are just being built as I was told.
