I am going with the drop shackles & turning the torsion bars down on mine. I haul stuff in the bed & tow often. If I have a weight problem I plan on adding helper spring to it or an additional leaf to my spring pack.

Any progress on this, definitely want to see where this goes..and post some pictures of that syclone
Havent been able to do much to it with the weather. I will be lowering it as soon as the weather is nice.
Just installed a new tranny in the Syclone.
Plenty of pics of the Syclone:

It looks like I have the OEM dual piston calipers.

My truck is needing front brakes. I would like to change to something better than stock. Does the SS come with dual piston calipers on the front? I'm not sure what I have yet on mine as I took it to the tire shop to have winter tires put on it. I also plan on changing the rotors if needed if they are too small. Has anyone else that has done front brake conversions on these trucks know if the SS calipers & rotors are compatible with mine?
I see a ZO6 conversion too. What is needed for that conversion? Thanks for any help here.

I have a 2005 Chevy crew. I plan to make it into an crew SS with lowered suspension, cladding (I plan on custom making the rear doors out of fronts), bumpers, grille& headlights, except w/o the 6.0 BUT with a 5.3+turbo. I am no stranger to turbo charged trucks. I do own a Syclone. I want something a bit different. I have been looking for & wanting an SS for the past 2 years & have had 2 deals fall through. Both black 2004s. Unfortunately with the size of my family we cant fit into an ext cab.
Here's what I started with:
Here's where I'm at right now. I've missed a couple good deals on full cladding kits here.
A little more work tonight:

Thanks. Looks like I need a 2" drop.

I'm working on my 05 conversion & am wondering:
what is the distance between the top of the tire to the bottom of the fender/box side OR fender to the ground? I'm planning on lowering mine but not sure how much yet. I'm running 275/55/20 tires. Stock SS size I believe, correct me if I'm wrong.
I know I can get 2" drop shackles for the rear & possible turn the torsion bars down in the front. I dont know of many stock SSs in my area to compare to.
At present mine is: front 5 5/8" & rear 7".
Another measurement from the bottom of the fender to the ground is 36.25" front & 37.25" rear.

This was posted on the Syclone website I'm a member of www.syty.net There is a pearl orange/red SS that was parked involved in an accident where a race Datsun's throttle stuck open & hit a bunch of cars & people.

Thanks. I like them better than the stock look. Way easier to see in the day time.
