  1. Let me see if I can get it to attach. This always seems to be a challenge on each new forum I join. Assuming it does, this was when it was just a few days old. I have since changed to different wheels. I'll see if I can dig up a newer pic.
  2. First off, thanks to all for the replies! Is it safe to assume that I would be better off going with another '04 motor? Unfortunately I've already replaced the motor in this truck once (long story, I'll probably go into it on another post) anyway the motor I swapped in was out of a '99. It had AIR (I think that is what they call it) plumbed into the exhaust that my truck didn't have. It also was not a drive-by-wire motor so I ended up swapping for my full original intake manifold, exhaust manifolds, injectors, etc. I was figuring on getting the complete engine will all of this same stuff on it and want to make sure I don't end up chasing parts for weeks. That brings another question to mind... are the throttle bodies and injectors different between the 5.3 and the LQ9? And last (for now) I have been told that the SS, Vortec Max, Escalade and Denali 6.0 are all the same, is that true? Thanks again, Gravity Storm
  3. I live in Fort Worth and work in Plano.
  4. Hi All, I am new to the site and I hope I am posting this in the correct forum. In '04 when I bought my truck I didn't think I could afford the price or increased fuel consumption of the SS (my daily commute is 85 miles). Anyway six years and 175000 miles later I am ready to upgrade the performance of my truck. I was wondering what would be involved in swapping in an SS/Vortec Max motor? I know that the external dimensions are a direct bolt in, but what would I need to change computer and wiring wise? There is a guy on craigslist here locally that lists the motors used in the 1200 to 1500 dollar range and I am cool with that. If there is a lot more than just bolting it in and replacing or reprogramming the ECU then what are your opinions on the power potential of the 5.3? Thanks in advance! PS. Really cool site. I've already got a lot of good info here.
  5. When I bought my Silverado in '04 I should have bought an SS. Anyway, I stumbled across this site a few weeks back and it is the best Chevy truck site I've found. I'll be posting lots of questions soon!
