  1. My appologies for using the :yellow_loser: Loser smiley face I didn't realize thats what it meant.
  2. Yes it would be interesting. In the classic Corvette world, project creep easily goes into tens of thousands. Can be truly horrifying. Many on the Corvette Forum have a policy of NOT counting their receipts. Me included.
  3. Thanks, I just read the sticky here on the Forum. I am getting the idea.
  4. Thanks, thats what I figured. Not uncommon practice in Detroit.
  5. Thanks. I am a dealer. Took it on trade. Not sure what I need to learn from my VIN. I already have the info I need. The '07 title. The '06 and '07 are the same as far as I can gather. Thats why I am asking here. To see if there is any difference I am overlooking. Happy New Year to you!
  6. Not trying to make one more special than the other. Just trying to clarify the differences between yrs.
  7. Neither could I. It would be helpful when a member responds, to offer the link or the information asked. 'Theres already a post on this" is not helpful.
  8. Not sure about this. Don't 06 and back have the LQ4 6.0 motor and the '07 has the LQ9?
  9. I appreciate your opinion but it's wrong. It may be the same truck as an '06. But the title says it's an '07 and it was sold as an '07. The Kelly blue book list it as an 07 in value over an 06. What Chevy calls them, is what they are! It's an 07 dude.
  10. I would love to see a 6 inch lift truck doing 13s.
  11. I agree on the headers. I don't think the bang for the buck is worth it. If I went with high flow cats and a new cat back system. The headers would be woth it. But that would be over $2k alone. I want to keep the truck apparently stock. The '07 already has electric fans. Please define "servos" . Are they trans servos? What driving results can I expect from trans work? Sharper shifts, higher shift points? I am thinking a Volant CAI, with a tune and maybe a shift kit. Are pullies worth the trouble?
  12. I prefer the 06-07 hood to ANY aftermarket. A new hood isn't going to make it any faster or qicker. I am very aware of project creep. My '63 Corvette convertible gets all my project creep money. I just want to warm it over. This truck is not my main focus when it comes to performance. It's my driver and I just want add bit of extra HP. My budget will stick at $1k or less.
  13. If you had $1000 to spend (PARTS ONLY) on engine performance mods, what would you choose and in what order? For a bone stock SSS?
  14. Not so. I am driving one. Just wanted to see how many other members had them.
  15. Mine averages 13,3 mpg according to the DI. Bone stock and a heavy foot!
  16. I have a friend with an '03 SSS, blue, loaded, 65k miles. It's been maintained like a Ferrari ie: climate controled garage etc..98% condition. The value of these trucks don't seem to be reflected accurately in Kelly BB. Anyone have an idea of the true re-sale value on his '03 SS?
  17. Mines 2 wheel and these trucks need all wheel. Thats the price I pay for a low production, low mileage SS.
  18. Thanks for the input. My experience is on pre-74 performance cars. I am a bit short on computer controlled engine knowledge. I am a trained in computer networks. So the terminology isn't lost on me. I have a bone stock '07 SS V-Max. I am going to start with a CAI. I guess the mail order tune would be next. I am looking for significant improvements. I know that can take multiple mods to acomplish. The biggest issue on a 2 wheel drive SS is getting the power to ground with traction control off. Input from all is welcome.
  19. How many Forum members have an '07 Silverado SS ?
  20. What years were the DEIs made and how many?
  21. Is there a benefit to this ( mail order tuning) if no other mods were done?
  22. Could it be, they only made a few hundred?I can't find road tests or any for sale.
  23. Thanks for the education. I was hoping my comment would draw out the tech reasons for the head swap. I know very little about the newer LS motors and their respective numbers. I didn't realize you could get such a bump with just a head change. I figured he would get at most he would about .25 to .50 in compression. How much Hp could he gain with this swap? I have little to no experience with computer controlled mods either. Give me a few months on this Forum and I will catch up. Thats why I am here. Can't beat the forums for an accelerated education.
