  1. Thats pretty cool. I didn't know the superfast came in black. I have two green superfast ones and I bought 6 of the blue regular matchboxes. Three in packages, one given to dad when he had the blue SS and one each to my nephew and daughter to play with on my hotwheels track. Also have one of the christmas ornaments. It was a present from my wife.

Everytime I go anywhere where they sale matchbox cars I always look for the SS. Sometimes I get lucky. I will have to look for the black one though.

  2. The 15053 and 15153 are the same kit with the 15153 containing a rubber grommet. I am looking at my install sheet. it has NOTE: part 15153 an oe rubber grommet will be supplied by volant and part 15053 use the oe rubber grommet supplied on the stock duct. This is the rubber grommet the goes on the end ot the air tube and the throttle body. So that grommet is the only difference between the two part numbers.

  3. I agree with Holty. I carry a $50 deductible for these occasions. I have had 1 windshield replaced when I had my Mustang which got hit with a rock in the monring and then by the wend of the work day cracked all the way across and two chips repaired for free on my 03 ss windshield. My insurance company will fix chips and cracks for free if they can get to them quick enough.

I also used the $50 deductible for a large deep dent (i could just about put my index finger in up to my nail) in the side of my 98 z71 from a bolt that was thrown by a lawn mower. Repair estimate was 300+.

  4. ...did like the color matched line-x though.

That is one thing I miss about the Blue one. I haven't had a chance to get the bed sprayed yet.

how did you verify it was yours,by the vin#?

I first noticed the pics of the exhaust and the flaps and the milage. The exhaust from the side has the tips just shy of exiting from under the bumper and from the rear the driver's side hangs lower than the other in a certain way. I then confirmed with the vin# to my window sticker I have here in a folder.

  5. When my dad got his TBSS on the first day he had it we lined up the 04 SSS and the TBSS as soon as we pulled out of the dealership. I got the jump on him and he started to pull ahead around 45 or so. When I took his TB to the track first run was a [email protected] this is about a second faster than the 03 or 04 SSS was stock and 1/100th faster than the best time I had in the 03 SSS (cai, catback, tune). I think after a few more miles the TB will be even quicker it only had 1500 miles on it when we got to the track.

  6. I have heard that there is a problem with the rear disc design. I just had to replace rear pads where as the fronts are fine with 21k miles on it. You would think that the only way the rears should wear down quicker than the fronts is from heavy loads. With my driving and the lack of hauling any thing writh while the fronts should have worn quicker. Just a thought.

  7. Hey guys two wweks ago we took dad's vette to the track to see if the vararam made a difference. Well i logged the run with HPT just to see. The car currently has stock tune, A4, b&b bullet cat back and the vararam ram air setup. Compared to previous best it ran 2 tenths quicker and picked up 2 mph through the 1/4. Anyways looking at the log during the run it was showing up to 7* of KR. Would this be normal with a stock tune? Would it more than likely be flase knock being reported? And also if it is being reported by HPT is it really pulling timing also?

And any suggestions on where to start with correcting it?

    Thanks

  8. Called up my local tire guy today and he gave me the choices for tires for the stock 20's.

Last time I went with the eagle ls's now I am looking for something different.

Does anyone have any experience with the yokohama avid suv tires? So far these are the ones I am leaning towards.

The ones that he can get in are:

Good year eagle ls 2 $149

    Perelli scorpion atr $139

fuzion zri $124 Looked at these but they do not seem to be suitable for winter use.

    kumho ?? stx for $119

    yokohama avid suv $129

I have read the other posts and people liking their scorpions and I think I read someone liked their zri's too. I did like the stock eagle ls on my 03 and replaced them with the same. I am just looking for a better all around tire. The yokohama have a 420/a/a rating. Just wondering if anyone has used or knows someone who used these tires.
