  1. so i have just gotten my SSS recently and i am young so she is plenty fast for me. usually i am all about engine and transmission but that department GM did fine for me. (for now) So i have decided that i am gonna save up for her to look better she looks good but its my truck and i want her to reflect me. Now i do not know how many people on here get the magazine Truckin but they are doing a project truck called novakane and i love the bare metal stripes they did. I was sorely disappointed only to see it on the hood. i do not even know if the stripes on the tailgate are bare metal because it is not as shiny and random like the hood's. Now do you think if i save up and got enough money, that i could get some bare metal stripes on the hood roof , tonneau cover (its fiberglass and i do not wanna buy a new one), and tailgate??? here is a link to the paint and body article they did http://www.truckinweb.com/tech/1113tr_project_novakane_2004_gmc_sierra_paint_body/index.html
  2. if i have a question about paint where would i put that??? general SS?

  5. i love TBSS and it seemed like you had a perfect day!!!
  6. ya plus i dont like leaving it any where were i am gone for awhile i worry somebody will get jealous and want to ruin my day.(is that normal?) see i cant really afford it fully mommy and daddy pay for most of the insurance i just have to pay for the gas and most of the price for parts (i like to get new stuff my dad likes to get the stuff from the junkyard so he gives me how much he would pay and i pay the rest) I LIKE THE IDEA but i like having a beater for the winter and something i can actually leave places. IDK i personally think mcdonalds isnt that bad or at least mine they are very understanding and the people there are well ...."interesting" and there is no way in hell i will work mornings i barely can do school and that is at 7am
  7. i have seen someone do that and i was more terrified then impressed because if he fell i would have to help him (if i didnt run him over)
  8. the suburbs specifically Eagan but like i said the SSS will rarely come out during the winter.
  9. ya the keys are set to the max right now and we also changed the(correct me if i am wrong) torsion bar the thing that connects to the A frames and has two bolts passenger and driver kinda right where the door opens. but my dad is bringing it to the shop so it gets done right. and this custom/rod thing is new for our family we use to just buy vehicles to get us from point A to B nothing really fancy and if something breaks we fixed it our house but this SSS and has 14856 miles on it and well its an SS you got to make it look/sound/be cool
  10. well kinda its from the original mario tv show that was very popular in the late 80's and 90's and my family went out to my brother who is the oldest and asked him whick name he liked and cooper sounded like kingkoopa A.K.A. Bowser but i sense i am the youngest i dont feel king worthy and also cooper and koopa are close
  11. ya English has never been my subject....but why would anybody wanna race a bike the power to weight is a huge difference!
  12. Well its got an S&B air intake flowmaster exhuat speakers that I don't know but swear they are not stock custom decals the tonneua cover black eyelids and the taillights are custom i dont know what kind also its lowered dont know how much or what kind will start the hard hcore digging on tuesday when brought in the shop for the camber problem.
  13. So i doubt some of you will remember me but i posted something a long time ago on here about the story of the SSS that me or my family was potentially going to get here is the link for that http://www.silveradoss.com/forums/topic/71271-17-yr-old-with-an-sss-d/page__p__790584__fromsearch__1#entry790584 well there was some family troubles my uncle who was in charge with the selling the vehicles was going to sell it to someone who wasnt me or my dad so i freaked out went to the bank saw how big of a loan i could get as an 18yr old with no credit and works at McDonalds i ran into some problems there since the truck is salvaged and well sense i am so young but we finally found some holes and i was potentially going to get a student loan so i ask my uncle how much he wants gave him my price he said ok but i told him to keep it a secret from my daddy because i did not want him to know of the stupid thing i just did. then the next day i figured out that the guy who was going to buy it out bid then my dad out bid him so i maxed my loan out my dad then outbid me again so i start reaching into my savings (even a more stupid idea) and raised the price again and was at my max told my uncle that... two days later i come home to an empty house (my parents run a home business so they are rarely gone) i call my mom she doesnt answer no biggy i go take a nap and i am waken by a loud ass vehicle reving its engine (WTF) but i had to go work soon anyways get all dressed walk down stairs all ready to leave get my keys for my sonoma get out to my truck and my truck is sitting there and my dads suburban and the garage was closed which is odd and then the garage door opens and a deep V8 rumble comes bursting out of the garage that is now slowly opening and my dad is now standing at the front of the SS. now i didnt know how to feel should i feel happy that it is still in the fmily or mad because it is his and not mine but my dad then said "here you go you idiot" and this is when i figured out that my uncle broke are promise of not telling my dad of the stupid decisions i was making so i think my dad understood how much this truck meant to me so he saved his son from making big mistakes at a young age and bough the truck and gave it to me (well we share it) so i got to work 10 min late but i did not care because i have my dream truck and well they didnt care either because...well its McDonald's. so i am 18 have two trucks which one is my dream truck doing better in school this year have a steady girlfriend and job. my life could not be better!! couple days later i bring it to my auto service teacher who also wanted the truck. so he could help me decide all whats wrong with it and so i could rub it in his face and well that went great because he wanted the truck so bad that he offered me a 2005 bmw 5 series and a jeep of my choice(he has like seven) and i told him no but i guess that didnt get through to him because he went on to come on you are 18 cant afford this thing and you are probably just gonna wreck it. i came right back at hime all last year he made fun of my little sonoma and how its not a "real truck" and how i should put a V8 in it so i gow "you told me all last year that i needed a real truck so i went big and got a nice one" after many offers and bickering back and forth we decided what needed to be done and also what i want done and what he would do. (bringing it in the shop on tue. to fix the camber get rid of the sliding window get a trailer hitch in it and maybe for some new paint on the hood and tonnea cover) so in short i love my new SSS and hate it at the same time because i am not use to this 15mpg and premium gas but the sacrifices you have to make to be happy/cool! i guess i should also thank my dad who still has not told anybody else (my mom) of my stupid decision i was gonna make and giving me the truck. i took it out yesterday for the first snowfall were i live and took it out sliding and well i dont like doing that because its my baby the gas just seems to disappear also i do not like to see her dirty. so she is gonna be locked up now so she stays clean and rust free! just curious maybe its because i am a teenager that goes to highschool but do you guys always get challenged to do drag races at stop lights or is that just me the only person who has beat me is the kid who lives across the street from me who got a 2010 vortec maxx two days after the SS showed up now isn't that just good timing i think someone got jealous
  14. oh that isnt that good of news it only has like 15,000 on it so i see the price going up idk atleats it will be at the house and i am pretty sure they will let me take it out some times maybe if we ever can get a meet in minnesota ill come but that has never happened has it i have heard we have tried but never got it going
  15. well guys with further digging we have figured out that my uncle has some debt and we also found out that he owns a company that was called MWM construction (mark william mckinnon) and some trucking company the reason we think this is because the guy he worked for kinda has a rap sheet and is known well in MN construction for being a crook once all the vehicles were under my uncles name ...hopefully still will be because that would pay off alot.... but my parents sat me down and explained to me that it will be very unlikely that i will get the truck the next day my mom and dad kept on asking me questions about it finally i asked why and they said they may buy it...now i was mad because now i have to wake up every morning and be jealous i asked why and the only reason is because there suburban does not have A/C and the SS does but i have thought about it for awhile and figured out the SS would be pointless for my family because we camp atleast three times a summer and the SS got a bumber delete and roll pan also sense we have a home business we ship many boxes and well a suburban can hold much more boxes compared to the SS because of the hard bed cover ... but my 18th bday is coming up so hopefully i will be getting an awesome b day present (doubt it) but hey ill get it.... later.....lets hope not sooner then i thought like my uncle (RIP) but idk i guess we will see how it all goes down but ya if my dad does get i am just gonna say i own it so i can join the forum and put photos up and ask questions but my parents came home with all of his model cars which i wanted and also the plan is i will be getting all of his tools because i will be going into the technician field hopefully but after i serve for the forces how much do you think they will say the truck will cost remeber it does have a salvage title
  16. i am from MINNESOTA... (ya sure you betcha) sorry i forgot
  17. ( in short i am seventeen that maybe getting a SSS put the reason is because my uncle died) so i put down that i was a fan because i do not have the truck yet but here is the story so my uncle mark was a huge car enthusiast and sense he has never been married and does have kids he liked to spend money on the things he loved which was his mom and his cars now he had a 58 impala that is just flawless and he had a 72 Chevelle SS (my dream muscle car) with a bored out 454 and a huge cam...etc a street legal car that would not be fun to drive on the street but more terrifying but he was not getting oil pressure so he never started it but luckily a great deal landed in his lap a salvaged 2005 Silverado SS Black(my dream truck except for the salvaged part) that (got nailed in the back) use to be a show truck it use to be loaded with tvs and speakers and he could trade the chevelle for it and he would also get 8 grand well that 8 grand went away pretty quickly seeing he had to fix all the problems with which included the interior because when it got salvaged they took all of the tvs and speakers out so there was holes in the headrest and head liner and also you know the big issue the back but well fixing it he decided he wouldn't have it be stock but customize it the end result was amazing i was a little mad he sold the chevelle but the SSS was much more practical but on june 25 at 7pm'ish my family got a call from my other uncle mike and we all thought it was about the upcoming family reunion/camping thing that we were gonna do tomorrow and uncle mark was gonna show up in his SS and go fishing eat and maybe even spend the night now this was a big deal because well mark was a big dude had to weigh atleast 450 so my mom answers the phone and instantly says is tony there and she says yes and hands the phone to my dad and says tony mark just passed away....he was 57 had many problems with himself you know the weight and smoking he did but also his leg was infected with something were when he would take a step it would leave puddles and well what happened when he laid down was the fluid would go away from his feet and they would not hurt as much but it was hard for him to breathe because well all the fluid would run up to his upper body still it was an unexpected death so we called the family even the ones out of state told them and well the camping trip was canceled and filled with funeral planning the funeral and cleaning oh and sisters(they are twins) b-day well when we all done with the planning and funeral it was cleaning time so it was forced upon me that i get all of his die cast models and all of his tools seeing that i will hopefully becoming auto technician in the future i did not argue with these decisions but all i really cared about was (i know this is bad but its the truth) the SSS and what its future was and if it included me well they also decided that if probate does not take the truck to pay of any debt he does have that i will most likely get it so i will say bye bye to my little 97 sonoma with the v6 and manual transmission and hello to an awesome SSS that i wish i did not have this young because it was to early but i will have the coolest vehicle at school now and now my friends wont be able make fun of my truck i miss you uncle mark R.I.P. <3 the attached photos were taken a year ago almost to date at our family reunion/camping thing)
