  1. the new pump fixed the issue. When I turned the wheel to full lock, there was no additional noise from the pump....there should have been. When at full lock and revved up a bit, the pump made the sound of a bad pump.

  2. i just checked the ps fluid level and its good. i started the truck and was able to turn easily while the rpms hadnt idled down yet. when it got down to 800 became hard. The belt looks ok. Would it help changing the fluid? I dont understand why it has been ok for all these years and suddenly be bad, which make me wonder why i would new the updated orfice.

  3. i just checked it out. 2 in 2 out (all 2.5 in) the body of the muffler is 13.5 and the overall length is 19.2. i can go up to 22 in length. the system looks stock and mostly stainless. about 6 inches on both sides the pipes are all rusted.

  4. It looks like u may have fried a trace. Its probably repairable. you will need a mutlimeter to check for continunity. If the trace is damaged, you can fix the spot with a flux pen and solder. you may have to add a small piece of wire to jump the bad spot.

You need the smallest diameter solder you can find and a 15 watt iron. scrape the coating from the trace...but dont dig into the trace, they are very thin.

Apply flux to the trace and add wire if necessary

  5. tayldss, I havent check the transfer case fluid yet.

blown346, the grinding would last 1 to 2 sec, which is very a long time. It would make the noise randomly, and I did not do anything in particular. I havent greased the front end in about 3 years. After I greased the front end, the noise has stopped (at least I think it did). I havent greased the idler or pittman arm yet...I have to get a diff. end for my grease gun, but after I greased the noise seemed to stop. Only time will tell. I keep updating the thread as I find things out.

  6. My low batt. idiot light is always on and has been this way for quite sometime. Its on even when the truck has been sitting for a day. My battery is getting old, but its not junk yet. I read this is another cluster issue; an issue with corrosion on the back of the cluster. Ive also read it can be an ignition issue. Does anyone have experience with this issue?

    thanks
